The coverage of the Gabby Petito tragedy seems to have masked some major new stories. Like:
France recalling its ambassadors to the U.S. for “unacceptable behavior between allies and partners.” Now that is not normal for allies. The President had promised we were “back” and Macron was so happy. Isn’t this big news? Do half of our citizens know this happened?
I can’t help but think that under another President this would be headline news continually.
The U.S. Drone Strike in Kabul that we were told was a success actually killed ten civilians and seven children instead. Yet no one has been fired nor resigned. In fact it was covered up until exposed.

Remember, too, we were told that the U.S. would respond to that Kabul airport bombing. We bombed two guys out in the desert that seem to be low level members of something, we’re just not sure what. Then we droned at the airport and killed children. So what have we done?

We’re still shaking our heads at the shocking manner we pulled troops out of Afghanistan. We did it before ensuring the safety of Americans trapped behind Taliban-controlled enemy lines. We did it before keeping promises to our friends that we get them out. We did it before taking out of equipment. We did everything wrong and our nation is less safe. Yet no one has been fired or resigned. Where is the press asking the tough questions?

I see the border crisis worsening and the conditions in some areas intolerable. I hear of deaths. I hear of drug traffic increasing. Then I hear the Homeland Director saying “the border is closed.” Really? I wonder where the VP who is in charge is. Not a word from her. The administration took a closed border and created a mess.

Then I think of the all the restrictions we are under because of Covid 19. Travel restrictions for non vaccinated. Masks for little kids in school. No dining inside if not jabbed. I wonder why all those coming across the border are okay and non vaccinated allowed?

While on Covid, I was wondering how come Los Angeles has a mask requirement for all indoor events, regardless of vaccination status of attendees, that the Emmy Awards were mask-less for all attendees. I know they claimed a “loophole” for an event to be considered “outdoors” if the event is being held in a tent. Forget that the ventilation isn’t better than a literal indoor space, and never mind that there are walls, lighting, and climate controls for the tent — by rule, these folks were “outdoors”. Why was there no outcry in the media over this?

Special treatment? How about this. We saw all the coverage of Rep. Ocasio in her “Tax The Rich” dress. Did you know this? Aurora James, the woman who designed the gown is a “notorious tax deadbeat with unpaid debts … in multiple states?” New York and federal authorities have issues with her corporation. The New York state Department of Taxation and Finance reported that in 2018 and 2019 there were three open tax warrants for failing to withhold almost $15,000 in income taxes from employees’ paychecks. Separately, between April 2018 and April 2019 the Internal Revenue Service placed six federal liens for failing to remit more than $100,000 in employee payroll taxes. Pretty amazing, uh? I guess Tax The Rich is not for all.
