I WATCHED THE ADMINISTRATION’S PRESENTATION
First, I saw Secretary Austin and General Milley’s press conference.
Verdict: Very unimpressive.
I won’t mince words: Both should quit or be fired – Today.
They missed the event and have no solution now. They are misleading the public. Time to go.
They both said they were surprised by the events that occurred so quickly. Really? You want to tell us that?
Here’s the NYT today. The same NYT that has your backs always:
“Classified assessments by American spy agencies over the summer painted an increasingly grim picture of the prospect of a Taliban takeover of Afghanistan and warned of the rapid collapse of the Afghan military.”
How about this on their front page:
“Contradicting Biden, Reports Warned of Rapid Collapse.”
The Times even added this:
“By July, many intelligence reports grew more pessimistic, questioning whether any Afghan security forces would muster serious resistance and whether the government could hold on.”
They weren’t alone.
The Wall Street Journal had this on the same day:
“And it’s not just the intel agencies. Generals and diplomats gave similar warnings.” (“Biden knew of the risks.”)
The Journal added:
“Biden’s decision to bring home U.S. troops … was made against the recommendations of his top military generals and many diplomats, who warned that a hasty withdrawal would undermine security in Afghanistan, several administration and defense officials said.”
“In a series of meetings leading up to his decision,” The Journal said, “military and intelligence officials told Mr. Biden that security was deteriorating in Afghanistan, and they expressed concerns both about the capabilities of the Afghan military and the Taliban’s likely ability to take over major Afghan cities.”
And you were surprised? The news reporters weren’t. It seems many in government weren’t. Either you lied or you’re incapable. In either case, you should be fired. Today.
Then I saw the President Speak and he never touched the issue or took questions. I was in shock as we walked away from the podium.
If you voted for the Biden/Harris team I wonder if you’re proud of their performance seven months in.
A message to Senator Schumer and Speaker Pelosi.
Your silence is deafening. Speaker Pelosi, you released a statement on day one that the President was taking the right action and how proud you were of his leadership.
Both of you being silent on this have failed the nation.
Your continued focus only on how to spend more money in light of this is an absolute disgrace to me.
One more thing to you both.
What you saw and see in Afghanistan is an insurrection. Stop disgracing yourself by applying that term to January 6th.
Schumer Wants To Arrest Who?
And Senator Schumer, your comments amid all this that we should “arrest people with a phony vaccine card” is so misplaced. We have politicians and leaders lying to the public over Afghanistan. We have incredible crimes on the streets, from criminals you support being out of jail.
Your comments about vaccine cards is deplorable.
Is this nation so lost and the media so biased that we are allowing this?
Oh Yea, But You Forget
Here’s another story in the newspapers.
Congress is in the midst of a historic phase of policymaking that’s unlike anything we’ve covered before. You really do have to go back to the LYNDON B. JOHNSON era to find proposals at the breadth and scale of what Biden and Democrats have put forward in their budget.
Yup, spending is out of control and the deficit is growing. Our children inherit the bill and bankruptcy looms.
However, you could have added:
Afghanistan under Biden is awfully like Vietnam under Johnson.
Inflation, gas prices and hostages in the middle east is an awful lot like under Carter.
Let’s tell the whole story.
By the way, here’s a partial update of what’s in their latest spending bill:
The federal government would guarantee four more years of education for Americans.
It would open up Medicare for millions of people who don’t currently qualify.
It would subsidize a transformation to an electric car industry.
It would drastically increase the reach and power of the IRS.
It would make corporations and the wealthy pay far more in taxes. (Which means higher prices.)
Child care and time off from work for family and medical reasons would have generous new federal support. Unions would have more power.
Millions of undocumented immigrants could become American citizens.
It would all require a massive expansion of the size, power and cost of the federal government.
All of the above is on top of what already passed (quietly) this week: What was that?
“The Biden administration has revised the nutrition standards of the food stamp program and prompted the largest permanent increase to benefits in the program’s history, a move that will give poor people more power to fill their grocery carts but add billions of dollars to the cost of a program that feeds one in eight Americans.
“Under rules to be announced on Monday and put in place in October, average benefits will rise more than 25 percent from prepandemic levels.
All 42 million people in the program will receive additional aid. The move does not require congressional approval, and unlike the large pandemic-era expansions, which are starting to expire, the changes are intended to last.”
In America this free program is feeding one of eight!!
Folks, your vote counts. 2022 is your chance to stop all this.
Who Pays The Bill?
You hear all the time that you, the working class don’t pay your fair share. Well here’s a stat on the 40th anniversary of the Reagan Tax cuts that the media doesn’t report:
In 1980 the highest income tax rate was 70% on many types of income.
Today, the highest income tax rate is 37%.
In 1980, the top 1% paid the same amount in taxes as the bottom 39% of taxpayers did.
Forty years later with rates cut almost in half, the top 1% now pay more in income taxes than the bottom 92% do. The one per cent pay more in taxes than 92 out of 100 taxpayers and the left still complains about “fair share.”
We need to vote and we need a fair media.
