It’s All Ukraine…

It’s All About the Ukraine

Yesterday we said it was all about which media you watched if the President was being impeached or Joe Biden was in big trouble. Today is no different and you need to see are the headlines from the liberal NYT and conservative Washington Times. Here they are beginning with the NYT:

Trump Said to Have Frozen Aid to Ukraine Before Call With Its Leader
The revelation came as leading congressional Democrats demanded that the administration turn over documentation about the matter and calls for impeachment grew.

The Washington Times leads with:
Trump flips Ukraine furor on Biden, son
President Trump accused Democratic presidential front-runner Joseph R. Biden on Monday of enabling his son to profit from foreign connections

So take your choice. Politico (left leaning has this today:
“IN THE LAST 24 HOURS, the political ground has shifted quite drastically on impeachment. The operative question seems to have shifted from “Will the Democrats impeach President DONALD TRUMP?” to “When will they impeach the president?” — and what approach they will use to begin those proceedings.

So does impeachment seem more real? Let me ask you, do you think the American people want impeachment today?
I don’t think so.

In fact I would say we are tired of congress doing nothing but this. How about some action to help the country? Here’s another story on their plans today:
“THE HOUSE WILL vote on a resolution condemning TRUMP. Senate Minority Leader CHUCK SCHUMER will take to the floor of the Senate this morning to try to pass, by unanimous consent, a “simple one-sentence resolution urging the release of the whistleblower complaint,” an aide told us.
Is this what we sent people to congress for?

How about passing the USMCA congress? It’s a good deal for America, why are you not passing that? The estimate is 180,000 jobs.

IN REAL NEWS:

The President said he won’t accept a partial trade agreement with China.“China has been starting to buy our agricultural product,” he said. “But that’s not what I’m looking for; we’re looking for the big deal” he said.
China is trying to remove tariffs from IP discussions and despite the looming election the President has said “no.” How many people know this and what a tough line he is taking?

Did you see this reported?
Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg referred to her colleague Justice Brett Kavanaugh as a “very decent” person as she lamented what she characterized as the “dysfunction” surrounding the confirmation process for new justices.
After delivering a speech on the 2018 Supreme Court term and the late former Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens, Ginsburg participated in a question-and-answer session with Duke Law professor Neil Siegel at an event for prospective law students held by Duke University.

Remember last week when it was all about Kavanaugh and impeaching him? What happened to that story? Oh, it was another false one.

Some news on Iran from the WSJ this AM:
“The leaders of Britain, France and Germany joined the U.S. in blaming Iran for this month’s attacks on Saudi Arabia and said the time had come for Tehran to start talks on a new, long-term agreement dealing with its nuclear, regional and missile activities.
Iran needs for the U.S. to be seen as the aggressor. So far, that strategy hasn’t worked. But the stakes in this international poker game are growing higher, and the costs of losing the bet are rising. Under U.S. pressure, Tehran could give in—or strike back with force.”

Meanwhile the President speaks at 10:15 before the U.N.

Let’s close with this quote from Joe Biden: “Donald Trump asked a foreign leader to investigate me and my family. Why? Because he knows I’ll beat him like a drum”.
I would differ with him on that. I think the only one beating Joe Biden like a drum is Joe Biden.

Let’s see what that and today brings.
