Pompeo Passes
That may be the headline but the story is how it happened. The committee was at 10-10 (a straight party spilt), as Rand Paul switched his vote in the last minute to yes. One Republican Senator Johnny Isakson of Georgia was missing. He was home attending a funeral. As the committee began to decide next steps with the tie Delaware Senator Chris Coons changed his vote to “present”. That made it 10-9 with Rand’s change to yes. At that point they decided to count Isakson’s vote even though he wasn’t present.
So you will read that Pompeo passed 11-9, but it was not quite like that. Rand’s switch at the end after all his pronouncements that he was a solid no led to Coons change and the counting of a proxy.
Now the hypocrisy continues as it goes to the full senate. Three Democrats have already announced they are voting yes. Want to know why? All three are running this November in states where Trump won big and remains popular. They want to tell their constituents “I am bi partisan”. Oh really? Find one vote where you went against your party and it mattered.
In Washington the call this profiles in courage. What a joke.
Now Get Ready
Now get ready for the next cabinet uproar. You will hear starting today. This one will be about the Presidents doctor Admiral Ronny Jackson. You may recall he did the President’s annual exam and faced all those heated questions. (Yes, he was Obama’s doctor too).
Anyway he was nominated to head the VA and try to fix it. He is next up and watch now how the smearing of his reputation begins as Pompeo fades.
The Nashville Shooter
Another use of the AR15 in a mass shooting. We ask again, why do so many need access to this?
However that alone is not the answer as we have said on so many occasions. Do you know this about the shooter:
His parents then told authorities he was suffering from delusions since 2014.
In May 2016 he told Illinois police that Taylor Swift was stalking him and wanted to meet him at Dairy Queen.
In June 2017 he was wearing a pink dress and carrying the AR15 when he threatened a co-worker of his father.
When police arrived he jumped into a pool in his underwear and flashed the lifeguards.
He was fired from another job three weeks ago.
There is more but you get the idea.
The gun and a nut who should have been locked up is the issue.
The NYT Today
Here’s a headline on how the NYT sees the upcoming meeting of Trump and Kim Jong-un:
An Unpredictable Trump and a Risk-Prone Kim Mean High Stakes
Think they have a lot of confidence in Trump? Don’t forget they supported the peace actions of Clinton, Bush and Obama that would prevent North Korea from building the weapons.
That worked out well.
Remember Broward County Sheriff?
Remember Broward County Sheriff Scott Isreal and what a hero of the media he was after the Parkland shooting? The same political Sheriff Isreal who said we will hear from him and was so close to leftist leaders? I bet you haven’t heard this:
He is facing a no confidence vote this week from the rank and file.
“They’ll come in, they’ll be given a ballot,” union president Jeff Bell explained, “A simple ballot right here, it’s a very simple question. I have confidence in Sheriff Israel or I do not have confidence in Sheriff Israel.” Bell said the historic move is due to the dysfunction of the office, which has been piling up for years but it was Israel’s handling of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting that is a major component of the no-confidence campaign.
Funny how this has gotten no coverage isn’t it?
BTW if they vote “no confidence”
If deputies vote “no confidence” the unon will call the governor and push for the Sheriff’s removal from office.
Free Speech?
Does the left see how far it has gone? Look at just yesterday:
A country superstar singer (Shania Twain) said good things about Donald Trump and got so much heat she had to pull back her statement.
Kenye West complimented a black conservative on her words and they went after him from every angle. She (Candace Owens) got threats and heat for her words.
Since when in America can you only think one way? Very dangerous.
