The Comey Interview
The interview really didn’t bring new charges or stories we didn’t know. The most devastating thing to the President was at the end, when Comey said the President lacked the moral fiber to be President.
What Comey did was reinforce the characteristics of the President we all know, and knew before the election. I don’t think America is surprised by what he said, they elected Trump despite his faults.
As for Comey, he comes across as too often shocked and not sure what to do. I can tell you what you do, you walk out and quit. If you are being asked to do something against the law, against what you stand for and feel so strongly you walk. You don’t wait to be fired to express your dismay. You live your principals.
Some things that were not asked we would have liked to see and hear:
The FBI is a mess at the top. The Inspector General issued a report late last week that Andrew McCabe lied and mislead. It was a scathing report and McCabe will likely face charges. He was number two under Comey. How come this never came up?
Nor did he ask about the Strzok and Page emails and what they were doing. This was under Comey and McCabe. In fact McCabe was on copy and involved.
All of this was directly under Comey, who said the FBI must be clean. How did this happen under his watch by his closest people? If you’re outraged by moral actions in the WH, you better be by people under your watch too.
George never asked.
We also would like to know his thoughts as to why Clinton bleached 30,000 emails and destroyed devices so the FBI could not see them. Yes, we know Trump lacks some moral compasses, how about his opponent? Didn’t they both have faults? Which was worse?
George never asked.
The other starting revaluation we heard was Comey saying his wife and kids were out on the day after inauguration in the protest march. They showed a picture of them walking with signs. Wait, we heard for months that Comey was a Republican. Now we hear his family were fervent supporters of Clinton and were out protesting the President while he was still FBI Director?
Finally Comey again admitted he leaked information. That is still surprising that one who wants to come across as the last honest person in America would do that. How does that sustain the reputation of the FBI?
So in the end we learned little new about Trump and some more about Comey and family.
Syria
The MSM continues to amuse us. Here they are blasting the administration about its action last week and making statements that shock us.
“Assad is still in power” we hear. Well our goal is not to replace him. Who would take his place? Think about Iraq after Saddam and the chaos after he was toppled. The same factions are in Syria. You take him out and we have the same mess. This mission was not to take out Assad. It was to act because he used chemical weapons — period. The mission was to bomb three complexes that were tied to their chemical program. It was done.
Then the President used the words “Mission Accomplished” and the media went ballistic. All because George Bush used that banner on the carrier after Saddam was toppled. Well for hundreds of years that statement was applied to the military and its action. Add that this mission was accomplished, we have the right to use it, and be proud and honor those who completed it.
Syria is a mess and we want no part of it. They have factions fighting internally. The Russians weaned their way back into the middle east here and are mired in the mess. Iran is pressuring from the outside and supporting a faction. ISIS too has one of its last bastions here. Trump’s instinct is to get out, but he can’t just walk while ISIS looms. He supported the red line on chemical weapons for a few reasons. One, it is right. Second, we don’t want those weapons in the hands of terrorists. Third, you want to stop any use, anywhere in the world immediately. Fourth, Obama drew the red line, then lost credibility by backing down. Trump can’t afford to back down. Not here, not now, not with North Korea and Iran watching. So we did a strike to show we mean business and hopefully the world gets the message. If not the next strike will be bigger. What won’t ever occur is troops on the ground.
Stormy and Cohen
Expect a circus on the news tonight as Stripper Stormy goes to court to watch the Michael Cohen case. Why is she going? Not because she is to testify or be part of the hearing. She is going to drum up more publicity for herself and drive more demand for appearances so she can earn more. The woman who says she doesn’t want all the publicity because of her daughter sure acts the opposite.
What a circus and the MSM will love it.
Cohen Alone
The Cohen investigation is in our opinion a bigger threat to the President than the Russian Collusion investigation. You don’t hear much about the collusion charges these days do you? Adam Schiff hasn’t been all over the airwaves talking about it, has he? The reason we think is there never was collusion between the President and the Russians. But, as normal with special prosecutors they delve off track and find things. In Michael Cohen they are now at the heart of all Trump did as a businessman and we have no doubt there are things people will jump on. Buckle up for this one.
