The Shut Down:
So exactly why are we in the midst of a government shut down? Let’s see:
Both sides want to find a way to fix and address the DACA issue.
It’s not like one side says deport and the other side says stay.
Both want to find a way to allow them to stay.
Both say they want border security.
Otherwise we have the same issue in three years.
I know one side means it for sure.
One wants a wall. The other I am not sure.
One wants to end family chain migration, the other I don’t think so.
One wants merit based immigration and I think the other wants a lottery.
Now there’s nothing in the rejected CR proposal to extend the government for four weeks that either side rejects. Nothing.
The DACA agreement in place doesn’t end until March 5th.
They are not related.
So what is this about?
If you read the above I guess it’s about what security looks like, what chain migration is and how we open the door to future immigrants.
It can’t be anything else since there is full agreement.
Are you kidding me?
We are doing this over a separate issue that needs a solution on March 5th and over one we are in 90% agreement?
The government is broken and people need to pay a price.
Who do we blame?
Chuck Schumer owns 70% of this in our opinion for leading the Democrats to this position. He’s just lucky the MSM is so liberal and wants to blame the President and Republicans so badly. If the media presented this as they would have if reversed, the country would be in an uproar.
President Trump owns the other 30%. For a man who presented himself as decisive and a deal maker he is proving otherwise in office. We saw on TV that Tuesday how he agreed with Diane Feinstein on a DACA deal outside of security agreement and had to be pulled back by Congressman McCarthy. Either he doesn’t know the issues, or he wants to please, but he does say things that later he changes.
The other part he owns is this. He said over and over he was going to build a wall. He said over and over Mexico is going to pay for it. He said it again last week. So why are we shutting the government over funding for the wall? Build it and let Mexico pay for it. What’s the issue Mr President?
Let’s get to chain migration and future rules for immigration.
On chain migration it seems pretty simple. You want to come, you apply. If you are married, apply for your wife and children. If your cousins want to come, let them apply. We need to vet everyone.
On future immigration here’s a novel idea. We decide each period what we need. If in 2019 we need agricultural workers we open the door for immigration to address that. If in 2020 we need healthcare workers then we lean to that. It doesn’t mean we block everyone. It means we go the legal list and in some year emphasis some needs as well as choose from the top of the list. — vetting everyone. Imagine addressing our nations needs as we allow immigration.
Enough with this ridiculous shut down. Today they are planning to vote on the three week extension, as opposed to the four week one the was rejected. What? You did all this to agree on the bill for one less week?
It’s time for Americans and the MSM to wake up and report the facts.
