Taxes
Let’s start here after a weekend of MSM and Democratic blasting the program. Here’s our questions for them:
You’ve discovered the budget deficit that some of us have been screaming about for 40 years. How come?
Where were you when President Obama doubled — repeat doubled — the country’s deficit from $10 trillion to $20 trillion in his eight years?
We really don’t seem to remember you yelling then. Why is that?
You’re worried because we are about to make our businesses more competitive globally and give taxpayers back more of their earned money. What is your solution? I guess you want to raise taxes.
How come if you’re so worried, I have not heard you once say we should cut spending? You know we can allow people to keep more of their earned income and stop spending so much and impact the deficit.
How come you never want to cut anything?
You go on the air and yell we are giving taxpayers their dollars back. Money they earned. You talk (now) about the deficit. How come I never hear about the other lever — spending?
Now you’re saying this is a bad deal for high tax states. Their deductions will be less. How come I never heard you yell that citizens in low tax states were paying additional taxes because of the higher tax states? Why does this work only one way?
While I’m at it, I have another question. How come not once have you mentioned that high tax states can reduce their tax rates and that would give their citizens additional dollars? You know it works both ways, the high tax states can be held liable for their spending too.
On that, you watch if this bill passes how candidates will emerge in some high tax states campaigning hard to lower taxes because of the unfair burden the states citizens now have.
Maybe people will wake up and in their states, pay attention to what politicians want to do, and who knows begin to reverse endless increased spending.
Now on the corporate tax cut to 20%, can the MSM just once explain why we need to do this. People complain about jobs leaving the U.S.. About the trillions parked overseas. It’s because of the tax rate, we have the highest in the competitive world. Why can’t you explain to people why we are lowering the rate and what we are trying to do as opposed to calling it “corporate welfare”.
In our opinion it is not corporate welfare but a move to drive jobs for the American people and expand the economy for every citizen.
To not present the full picture is a shame on you.
The MSM and liberals want to raise corporation taxes as if this doesn’t impact us all. As if they won’t increase the price of goods, reduce jobs and move them overseas. They think people are dumb so they attack a much needed move as “corporate welfare at your expense”.
Intellectual dishonesty is what it is.
Next, watching Chuck Schumer and team complain they didn’t have time to read the bill is a joke. Hello Obamacare. Are you kidding me Chuck? The bill, minus some last minute adjustments, was on line for weeks. You are all lying.
To the Senator who asked on camera “can you read this word, if you can, you have better eyes than me”. I can, and so I do. By the way, everyone I asked here also could read it. Go see your eye doctor.
Both the MSM and liberals would have some credibility if they started using their talking points about the bill before it was introduced. Now they say they didn’t have time to read it. Yet you are saying the same thing about it as before it was introduced.
And by the way, you said months ago no Democrat would vote for it. If you didn’t know the bill how did you know that?
Finally your dishonesty on the middle class paying more in 2027 is disingenuous to us all. The senate is forced to put that in because they cannot vote for anything that will potentially drive up the deficit without a trigger to pay for it. It is a rule. Yet you present it as a given.
Some of us expect the tax cuts to drive revenue. (Like the Kennedy and Reagan ones did). How about liberals not spending the increased dollars?
Second you know as well as me that congress does not have to accept middle class tax increases in 2027 if it came to that. Are you afraid liberals will see it as just opportunity to raise taxes, because I guarantee you conservatives won’t.
Trump Tweets
No matter how much progress the President makes on anything, he will tweet something outlandish and destroy the message. There is no hope, and his chances for reelection are diminished by his inability to use social media as an advantage.
Why does he do it? Because his ego is too big. The best way to explain this is:
President Ronald Reagan kept a saying on his desk, one he lived by. It was “There is no limit to what a man can do or where he can go if he doesn’t mind who gets the credit”. Reagan was one of our great President’s following this maxim.
Trump is the opposite. His tweets, his words are all “me”.
On The Russian Probe:
ABC’s Brian Ross gets a well deserved four week suspension after his false reporting on the Flynn testimony. Not the first time Brian has gotten over his skis wrongly on a issue. His liberal enthusiasm made him get out ahead of the facts. Disgraceful.
On Flynn, why did he lie? There was nothing in what he was asked that was wrong, so why did he lie? There has to be a bigger issue involved.
Isn’t it ironic that Flynn, a General who earned much accolade for his service to the country will be going to jail, while the killer of Kelly Steinle walks free? Is that American justice?
