Trump Speaks — No Fallout

Imagine President Trump gave a 45 minute speech and then an hour long interview and the MSM had nothing to attack this AM. Is this an example of the broken clock being right twice a day, or the maturing of a President?

Going on the road to sell his tax program is exactly what this President needs to do. It won’t pass without his active leadership. With healthcare he let congress lead, and they failed. He knows more about taxes and he must do this. Without his active leadership it too will fail.

A man without a party, the President must get the people to pressure congress to vote for the cuts. The proposal is still to be defined on things like what are the tax rates are for each bracket, but a cut should drive the economy. We are sure a fifth rate (39.5) will be added to the 0, 12, 25 and 35 currently proposed. We also think the state deductions will not be eliminated. Let’s see.

This AM Paul Ryan appeared to get the message. He said he will keep congress in session through the Christmas holiday to get tax reform done. Ryan (who got health care through the house finally), looks far better than Mitch McConnell for leadership and ability. McConnell appears to be headed for even more tough sledding ahead. He has allowed himself to be painted “old school” and a leader of “swamp politics”.

With all that, isn’t it amazing how unified the Democrats are. Always 100% in line. They were the same for Obama and Clinton before that. The Republicans are no where as united supporting the President’s policies.

Now it really didn’t help for the Obama eight years. Obama got his agenda done but the Dems lost the house, senate and state governments. Let’s see what 2018 brings for Republicans.

Obama by the way is going on the campaign trail for the first time this week. He is in Virginia for the Democrat Governor candidate.

In Other News

So Hillary spoke up finally on her friend Harvey Weinstein. She was shocked and dismayed again. Every time someone around her does something that is her reaction.
Oh yea, she will give money Harvey donated to charity. What charity? She didn’t say. Do you think it might be the Clinton Foundation?
By the way, so far that foundation has done nothing for all the hurricanes and activity going on. Why is that?

Hollywood and the MSM sure look bad in the Weinstein matter. How many people knew and did nothing? How many of them are so loud and active for women’s rights? How many of them attacked Trump? Sad how they selectively chose when to speak up.
Ben Afflect sure looked bad. His loud voice quieted with one tweet on his doing the same. He’s sorry now too.
Jimmy Kimmel’s video is just an eye opener too. What Jimmy? You should cry about that.
NBC really? You passed on the story, really? You are non biased.
And SNL, you passed on Saturday because it was too NY? Really the MSM needs to look at itself.

What can we expect this weekend from the NFL players. The pressure coming from the commissioner is to stand. Not mandatory, but requested. We expect many to continue kneeling and not pay attention. In the meantime with ratings down concern is building. This is going to build to a major face down in November.

Big news, did you see Chicago repealed its soda tax? It wasn’t working and the city backed off. Hopefully now other towns and cities think twice on adding annoyance taxes like this.

The Ratings

Fox seems to have recovered ground lost with its new lineup. Megyn Kelly is having early rating issues with her new NBC show. They paid her a lot to join and it is hurting right now.
