North Korea Blinks:
The biggest news of the day should be how N.Korea’s leader Kim Jong Un has decided not to launch a threatened missile attack on Guam. For the first time N. Korea backed down (for now). Trump’s tough talk, that the liberals and MSM were inciting him and leading us to war, was right. Check Keith Ellison (Congressman and second in command at the DNC) who said that Jong Un ” is acting more responsible than President Trump”. Will the MSM hold him, others on the left and itself responsible for their words now? Will they give President Trump credit? We doubt it on both.
The President Names Names:
The President was clear yesterday in condemning the actions in Charlottesville and named the names the media wanted. On Saturday he condemned all, then yesterday named the right groups directly. Will this satisfy the left and MSM? Don’t be silly. You see nothing would have ever satisfied them. Trump could have named names one minute after the event and the MSM would be running with “his words and actions fostered this”. They just don’t like him and will never relent.
Just as he will always provide them fodder. We were clear yesterday that he was slow and should have been more direct, but it wouldn’t have mattered. A loyal reader of this blog sent this message yesterday on those thoughts: (We have very intelligent readers!)
“Good morning, to feel better just think we could’ve had Hillary, then repeat. It will continue to be a mess for a long time. Trump is fighting a war within his own administration, that’s very sad and I expect it to continue. If your own house is unstable and divided how can you normalize and bring a divided nation together? Every line and utterance coming from the WH is dissected and examined, and if it’s possible to put a spin on it, it’s never in a positive light. It’s a no-win. Yes he puts fuel in the fire with his comments which makes it even worse. He’ll say too much, he’ll say too little. It won’t change, this is Trump. We got ’em, let’s pray”.
On That Topic:
I bet you didn’t hear this on the MSM. The mother of the young woman killed in Charlottesville thanked the President for his words of comfort.
Susan Bro said in a statement, “Thank you, President Trump, for those words of comfort and for denouncing those who promote violence and hatred. My condolences, also, to their grieving families of the two state troopers and quick recovery for those injured.”
Protests Abound and Statues Come Down:
You probably saw the video of people toppling the statue in Durham. Remember it was a planned statue removal in Charlottesville that led to the events of Saturday. We have some thoughts on this:
First we can understand why some would be against the statues and what they represent. There is a legal means to conduct a movement to remove them. It should be followed.
Second you are not a hero for taking the law into your own hands in our world. Where does that begin and end? Who decides what is right and wrong?
Third the statue was built by forefathers of the area with their funds, thoughts and support. You may judge people by today’s standards but understand why they did what they did.
Fourth where does it end? Do we remove George Washington from our history because he had slaves? Do we disown Thomas Jefferson for the same reason? Who decides that?
Fifth you can have a statue removed but it is despicable to see you tear it down, spit on it and then stomp it.
Finally one thought and question for the intolerable left. Remember when you told conservatives “if you don’t believe in abortion don’t have one”; or “you don’t want to see that on TV then change the channel”? How come that doesn’t apply to you and things you don’t agree with?
