There may just be a new norm developing that many are missing as they focus on their biases. Consider this:
We speculated weeks ago that President Trump may be setting up running against the Democrats and a weak “do nothing” Congress. As days and events unfold we may see this coming into play.
Can’t fix healthcare — it is the “do nothing” congress that wants the status quo.
Tax cuts, see the Democrats won’t help. They don’t care about he working person.
Remember, Trump got the nomination by staging a takeover of the Republican party.
Folks he will say, we need to drain the swamp. Let’s fix America.
It all sounds logical right? The one fly in the ointment is the President’s tendency to shoot from the lip. A thoughtful reasoned politician and leader could pull that off. The only groups with less popularity than the President are the Democrats and Congress.
An Example:
Here’s a great example. Healthcare goes down and the President looks bad. He tweets about it and people shake their heads. Then what happens? Mitch McConnell goes out and says the President doesn’t understand how long things take in Washington. What?
Mitch that’s why we sent him there to drain the swamp.
Mitch you claimed to have a better plan for eight years.
Mitch are you that tome deaf and dead?
For the first time we found someone to make Trump’s tweets look brilliant. The head of the Senate.
Mitch’s comments just prove it’s time to change congress. If you’re satisfied with failure because it takes time, it’s time to change leadership. We called for it weeks ago and we call again. Change Senate leadership.
By the way Mitch, hasn’t it been long enough even by your standards to pass Kate’s law (that got through the house)?
What’s the story Mitch?
Some Stats:
Did you know that 6.5 million people chose to not buy healthcare last year and pay the fine? Doesn’t that tell the Mitch’s (McCain’s and Democrats) that the law needs changing?
Another 15 million say they would drop it if the law is changed.
Our solution: Okay you want us to change it so you can chose to have no coverage. Here’s the new law. You walk into a clinic or emergency room and we treat you then you owe us back. We put a lieu on your earnings, home, auto, all you own. There are no free rides in life.
Speaking if which the WSJ reports: A group of advisers to former Republican and Democratic presidents, who have been holding meetings this year looking for points of agreement on a possible bipartisan health-care package, is pitching a proposal to stabilize Obamacare’s insurance markets to lawmakers like Sen. Lamar Alexander (R., Tenn.), who chairs the Senate Health Committee, and Sen. Patty Murray (D., Wash.), the committee’s top Democrat, who are working to address rising premiums and insurers leaving the individual insurance market.
The system is broken and something has to be done — you hear us Mitch?
Why did the President endorse someone in Alabama?
We reported that both candiates for Senator Sessions open seat were fighting to be closer to the President. Why did Trump out of the blue announce his endorsement of Sen. Luther Strange, R-Ala., Tuesday evening?
Strange’s opponent Mo Brooks called for Trump to retract the endoresemnt. He said “Mr. President. McConnell & Strange don’t support your agenda. I do”. He later added, “I respect President Trump, but I am baffled and disappointed Mitch McConnell and the Swamp somehow misled the president into endorsing Luther Strange.”
We were surprised the President did this and apparently he caught his staff by surprise too.
Remember the taxes we reported on for Seattle and Chicago?
Well both cities are now facing lawsuits and review of the taxes.
In Seattle the city income tax on “high earners” was hit with its first legal challenge. The new measure would impose a 2.25% tax on any income over $250,000 or above.
In Chicago some local elected leaders are demanding a vote on reversing the soda tax. They said it’s clear already it is a burden and hurting local business.
Isn’t that interesting in Chicago? So unpredictable right? Liberals who call any tax reduction a reward to the rich, put a tax on beverages that hurts the poor and small business owners are surprised at the impact.
