EARLY RELEASE OF WEDNESDAY’S BLOG
From now until November 2018 is an eternity in politics, which I guess is a good thing for Republicans, because if it were today they would be wiped out. And well they should, because for now this is a clear example of failed leadership. Failure in every branch, the house, senate, and white house.
After eight years of yelling and voting to repeal Obamacare they failed. They failed miserably. They failed in the house with the first vote. Then got the second one passed with no margin for error. They celebrated and then the President himself called the house bill “mean”. The same house bill he celebrated in the Rose Garden.
The Senate failed totally. A disgraceful act of leadership and clear lack of respect for Mitch McConnell. When have you ever seen a senate leader look so inept?
So what does he do when two more of his caucus announce they will vote “no”, killing the bill?
He announces he will conduct a repeal only vote.
What?
First it would throw the government, economy and country into complete turmoil. It would cause total healthcare confusion and utter chaos. A dumber idea we would have trouble thinking up.
Then add this. It has zero as in none, chance of passing. You wouldn’t get 30 votes. So you just failed at leading in getting a bill passed and you propose a loser like this?
Here’s our assessment.
Time to replace Mitch McConnell.
Resign and elect a leader please.
The winner in this whole process is Obamacare, Chuck Schumer and President Obama. Congratulations to the Republicans and their leadership. They took three unpopular things and made them popular.
You couldn’t have done more damage if you had set out to do that.
Really Mr President:
So your reaction to your party killing a replacement for Obamacare is let it fail? What? You know you are the presiden,t right? The welfare of the people in the country is in your hands. What are you saying? Don’t you think before your mouth moves or fingers tweet? Try it for a change.
As a politician you should have said you are concerned about the health and welfare of people as Obamacare implodes. That you will see what can be done to protect them from a failing system. It is very challenging because the costs are skyrocketing and insurers leaving the system.
Take the high road so blame can go where it belongs. But no, not you.
All you did Mr. President was give the other side words to quote you by as things fall apart. Chuck Schumer will say “he told you he wanted the system to fail, he doesn’t care if you die, because he didn’t get it his way”.
They will place the blame 100% on you. Nice job.
Iran deal certified. Obama wins again.
On top of healthcare the administration signed off that Iran is in compliance with the deal they signed with the Obama administration and it goes forward.
This is the same deal the President was going to “tear it up”.
Remember that?
Well Iran is too smart to deviate from an agreement that will allow them in ten years to be a nuclear power. They may go to the edge, but they’ll comply.
It was a horrible deal but Obama locked it in and it continues.
Put the promise to “tear it up” next to “new healthcare on day one”, a “wall that will be built and paid for by the Mexicans”. Just call them promises unkept and wins for the former President.
And they back off some more on the travel ban:
Did you see that the State Department sent a memo to US diplomatic posts overseas adjusting the travel ban?
Grandparents of American citizens from six Muslim-majority nations who had been banned from coming to the United States under President Trump’s travel ban have gotten the green light to book their flights.
The state department backed down after a US District Judge in Honolulu found the government cannot bar grandparents and other relatives of US citizens from Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen from getting visas under the ban.
How bad is this administration? After getting beat down in the courts and finally getting a partial ban they still can’t get it right? This is total incompetence and it goes to the very top of the government. Grandparents are not family? Is anybody thinking in this administration?
It only gets worse:
So now they ID the eighth person in the Donald Trump Jr. meeting with the Russians. It was an individual who works for Russian real estate developers. The same people who hosted the Trump owned Miss Universe pageant in 2013. Real Estate and Miss Universe connections.
Well now isn’t that interesting?
The Washington Post reported his name is Ike Kaveladze and that at one point he was the “subject of a congressional inquiry into foreigners forming shell companies in 2000.”
Drip, drip, drip. This administration is killing itself.
The Good News:
It’s all good news if you’re a Democrat, anti Trump and the MSM. All of them had a great day and are set up well to continue the bashings with the outlook of even better days ahead.
