After the weekend …….

Tomorrow we plan on addressing the deteriorating world situation with another London terrorist act, the U.S. shooting down a Syrian plane and additional troops going to Afghanistan. The MSM continues to focus on Russia and Trump but the world has far bigger issues.

A little weekend catch up and news you might have missed:

The Sunday News shows went after Trump for varied issues:
– “He is under investigation”. Really? For what? Not collusion.
– “He admitted it in a tweet”. No, he tweeted in reaction to a fake story.
– “He wants to fire Mueller”. Do you have any proof of that? No.
It was just more of the same without proof.

The Georgia 6 Special Election Tuesday:

There will be much noise on this special election tomorrow. To date Republicans have held serve (Kansas and Montana) in special elections. This one promises to be very close. A false fact on ABC’s Sunday show.
Donald Trump did not win this district by 23 points.
He won it by one point.  (In fact he won Georgia by only 5 points)
In an attempt to build up the significance of discontent they confused the former Congressman Price’s win with Trump’s victory margin.

Minnesota Police Ruling:

The Cosby no decision got a lot of play over the weekend but did you know that in Minnesota a jury came back not guilty for the police officer in the incident covered so extensively in July? This was the one where his girlfriend live streamed the aftermath of a police shooting of her boyfriend and narrated the scene unfolding around her in the car. You remember the days of riots and coverage that resulted.
We may all be surprised at the verdict based upon what the media told us. However, none us were in the court room as the jury was to hear all the evidence and they came back not guilty.
The police officer will be leaving the force it was announced.

It’s a tough job to patrol the streets and highways. If you want a good feel watch the show on A&E Friday and Saturday nights (9:00) called Live PD. They follow officers live in six cities and you can get a feel of the job.

Speaking of the police:

Democrats have nominated for DA in Philadelphia a man  who has sued the police department 75 times. He has called law enforcement “systemically racist”.  In this clearly Democratic city he will most assuredly win the election. Larry Krasner is his name.
Some more from him:
“When you’re 56 and you see the worst president of your lifetime and the worst attorney general of your lifetime trying to reverse good things that date back to the ’60s, you might just have to do something about it.”
He has offered up a menu of initiatives aimed at fighting what he called “the criminalization of poverty.” He has promised to cut down on the prosecution of minor cases, divert drug addicts into treatment and ignore, where appropriate, what he described as draconian sentencing guidelines. He has also said he would abolish money bail which he feels often leads to the jailing of poor defendants while wealthier ones go free. He would decline to seek charges in any case he deemed to be based on an illegal stop and search.
Watch this over time. As we reported last week the crime rate in Baltimore has exploded since the Mayor and DA turned against the police. You will that here too.

The Ratings:
First the show: Last Man Standing:

You remember the controversy of this show being cancelled. High ratings, but a conservative leaning. Well ABC is not backing off, but it now appears that CMT is going to pick it up and provide new shows. More to come.
