Now batting …. Comey

Tomorrow’s news will be all about Comey so here’s our blog early tonight.

Some quick hits before the hearing:

I watched the Intel Hearing and it just added to the mess that is Washington. Some Democratic Senators went harshly at the four intelligence leaders demanding to know about their Trump interactions. The hearing was on an intelligence act and its future. Their refusal to answer set off vehemence and anger for some Democrat Senators.
Interestingly both NSA Leader Rogers and CIA Director Coates did say they have never felt pressure to intervene, or interfere in any way for shaping intelligence. They did refuse to answer about influence.

Then later in the day I read Comey’s opening statement for today. He seemed to verify some positive and negative that we have heard. The negative for the President is he asked for loyalty and that seems off base for the Director of FBI. Comey also says that the day after Flynn was fired he met with the President. He says this “I want to talk about Mike Flynn.” Flynn had resigned the previous day. The President began by saying Flynn hadn’t done anything wrong in speaking with the Russians, but he had to let him go because he had misled the Vice President. He added that he had other concerns about Flynn, which he did not then specify.
The conversation continued and the President got back to Flynn.  “I hope you can see your way clear to letting this go, to letting Flynn go. He is a good guy. I hope you can let this go.”

On the positive side Comey did say and tell Trump on three occasions he was not under investigation. He also made clear that Trump was frustrated by all the Russian coverage and in particular the falsely reported Trump dossier the Russians had.

So the opening statement is damaging and will provide MSM fodder. It also has some things the Trump people will quote and work with. Impeachment material? No. Now if Democrats, like Schumer, Pelosi and Waters were in control we would see charges. But they aren’t.

Onto the questions and answers today.

The NSA leaker’s (Reality Winner) Mom said “‘She’s Not a Threat … and I’m Proud of Her”. She added,”I can’t ever call her a traitor…”.

We can and hope she gets the maximum ten years.

Again, we say watch the MSM and left try and turn her into a hero. Yesterday Brian Ross on GMA called her taking the document “bold”.

Socialism in action. Bernie Sanders made $1,042,000 last year. Now, one might think that a good socialist would share some of that cash with his “sisters and brothers” in the movement.
Shocker, Bernie is keeping all of that moolah for himself. He bought a third home, a four-bedroom waterfront house on Lake Champlain in VT.

Trump nominates Christopher Wray for FBI Director. Surprise, Democrats and liberals attack.
Question, which nominee of Trump did they ever support? Name one. Gorsuch to the Supreme Court? Tillerson to Secretary of State? Anyone?
The outcries have no credibility.

Anthem announces they are leaving Obamacare in Ohio. That leaves a second region of the country poised to have no marketplace options under the Affordable Care Act. Democratic reaction? Led by Senator Chris Murphy they claim Trump is sabotaging Obamacare.
It couldn’t be that many of us were right and the bills are coming due. After all the intolerable left is never wrong.

Big election in England today for Prime Minister. Would get major coverage if not for it being “Comey Day”.

Tuesday was the 73rd anniversary of D-Day. Walking those grounds leaves a life impression of the valor of soldiers. Seasick. Into cold water, sometimes shoulder high. Moving forward on open beaches with German machine guns awaiting they moved forward. We will never forget and it followed what we did in WW1 in the same country. Which brings us back to two weeks ago and the mocking by the new French President that angered us again.
Yesterday we saw one picture of the attacking D-Day forces.
American troops onto Utah and Omaha Beaches. The 101st airborne behind the lines. American troops into Cherbourg.
British troops onto Gold and Sword beaches. The 6th Division British Paratroopers behind the lines.
Canadian Troops onto Juno Beach.
They came to free France and all of Europe. French troops couldn’t help except for some resistance fighters. Today Marcom dares mock us.
