At one time the saying was to get along go along. In congress these days that is history. You go along, you are done in the party. It’s a good thing we don’t still have mid day shootouts at the OK corral any more; or is it?
Neil Gorsuch may have been approved unanimously to be a federal judge, but now to Democrats he is Darth Vader. We repeat, he will be on the Supreme Court. This fight is over the next appointment.
Have cabinet picks ever been so contentious? Yesterday we shared how Democrats did not show up holding up two committee votes. They did the same on Wednesday. So committee chair Orin Hatch pulled a procedural move and voted without them. Both are now before the full congress.
In another room Senator Al Fracken tried all he could to hold up fellow Senator Sessions committee vote to be be Attorney General. He called Senator Cruz a “liar”, then called Sessions one. He failed on a party vote.
Before this cabinet gets approved, and we still think they all will,(with one possible exception), there is going to be long term damage to individuals and parties. You wonder why people don’t want to serve.
On that topic, Rex Tillerson who had an incredible job as CEO of Exxon-Mobil and then got treated like a pyranha in the hearings got approved yesterday. Where does he go to back the reputation he came into the hearing with?
Why is the left and their leadership so crazed? Is it the leadership has so riled the masses that they now have to find red meat for them; or is it the masses have gone off the deep end and the leadership is trying to survive? Think of this.
We told you Democratic leftists were going to protest against Chuck Schumer because he was not tough enough on Donald Trump’s actions. They did yesterday. Roughly 3,000 “angry demonstrators gathered outside Sen. Chuck Schumer’s luxury Brooklyn apartment building — holding up signs and chanting “What the f–k, Chuck?!” — to protest his lukewarm stance on President Trump’s cabinet picks”.
Now consider the daily outrageous statements, crying and even voting against Senate Majority Leader Mitch O’Connell’s wife for Secretary of Transportation is not enough. He cannot possibly support Gorsuch, despite being for him a few years ago.
In the disdain conservatives hold for Schumer for the negative anger he has spouted and the anger from the left because he has been too easy, you see the divide.
We need leaders who are truly willing to do the right thing for America and not worry about their next election.
Imagine the reaction if Hillary won and Pence said what Tim Kaine did yesterday — “Democrats Have to ‘Fight in the Streets’ Against Trump”.
Speaking of Hillary, she is “working on a book of personal essays that will come out this fall”, Simon & Schuster told The Associated Press. The publisher said Clinton will use the quotes to “tell stories from her life, up to and including her experiences in the 2016 presidential campaign” and into her thoughts on the future.
I am sure you can reserve your advance copy if you want.
A Reuters/Ipsos poll taken after the mass protests and wall to wall media condemnationshows Americans still support Trump’s Travel Ban 49-41%.
An example of liberal thinking from Mayor de Blasio in NY. He wants to add a 2.5 percent tax on residential property sales of $2 million or more, claiming the rich can easily afford it because Washington will be putting “more money in their pockets”. So before Trump announces any tax suggestions he is ready to raise taxes so he gets it and not the people earning it.
