A New Week …..

New Week:  Lot’s of News Ahead

Let’s start with France’s President Macron visiting and trying to get Trump to change his policies in two fronts — Tariffs and the Iran Agreement. Both are big and will be interesting to watch today.

North Korea and the setting of a date for the summit could be this week. This story has a lot to follow. Interesting to  see the MSM asking if Trump has given up too much already. Really MSM? What has he given up? I have seen N. Korea change policy and positions, but Trump?  Are you serious?

The committee vote on Mike Pompeo today is a third. It will be historic for what follows. (More below)

Secretary Munchin is planning to visit China to discuss the trade issues dividing our countries.

With all this and more isn’t it a shame you turn on the MSM and all you hear is Trump and Cohen?

For fifteen months we heard “Trump and collusion”.  When that seemed to be a dead end, we moved to Trump is going to fire Mueller and Rosenstein. After a week of denials we are off that.

Now we are on to Trump and Cohen to lead every newscast. “Cohen is going to turn on Trump”. How do they know that? We don’t even know what is in the files. If there is something in there how do we know it is not covered under attorney client privilege? “Trump is going to pardon Cohen” is the new refrain. Where are they getting that from?

How about the MSM covering some real news that can impact our lives and future?

Pompeo Vote Today

Pending a last minute change the committee is about to vote no on Mike Pompeo as Secretary of State. Every Democrat and Rand Paul are going to vote no.
The administration will push the vote to the full senate, and we suspect he will win there, but this is ridiculous. We’ve come a long way from Jim Baker (100% yes) and 90%+ for Madeleine Albright, Conde Rice, Hillary Clinton and John Kerry.
BTW, the only cabinet nominee on record to be confirmed to a post without a favorable committee recommendation was Henry Wallace in 1945. He was approved  as secretary of commerce in 1945 by a 56-32 vote after committee rejection. That was it, one time before.
Pompeo will be the next we think. And well he should be. First in his class at West Point. Military Service with honor. At the top of his class at Harvard Law. A successful business class and then election to Congress. What is there not to like? Answer: He was elected as a Tea Party supporter. (Tea party stands for Taxed Enough Already). I guess that’s it.

That Cop Killer in NY

The three time cop killer (2 in NY and 1 in SF) who got parole and then was challenged by the widow of one officer and the police union, had his case heard in court. The judge ruled that if the parole board voted to release, he cannot stop it.
He is now scheduled for release on Friday.

Comey

Comey had a bad first week on the circuit to sell his books. He is back out there for week two, and if he has another like that the publisher may pull him off.
Think of the great reputation he had, and how today it is continuing to decline. While the country waited for the revelations to damn Trump, it is Comey who has suffered!
