Quite a news day. A new Healthcare Proposal, the President in Paris, a joint press conference with Macron, the market goes to new highs (up 17% since the election), Russia and so much more.
Healthcare:
Out comes the latest Republican version and here we go again. I doubt it satisfies all and passes. In fact two Republicans already came out against it. Since no Democrat will vote for it that leaves zero wiggle room. You trust John McCain and Lindsey Graham to support something Trump wants? We don’t.
I suspect conservatives will say we are giving away too much. Moderates will want more and Democrats will say Republicans want people to die.
The best thing. The idea we floated weeks ago. Cancel their recess and let them stay in open session and find a solution. One that is best for the people and our fiscal future. Being locked in like that just might be the medicine they need.
The President In Paris:
It certainly appeared to us that Trump and Macron were getting along and agreed on far more than they disagreed. A good joint press conference. The one question that made us laugh came from a French reporter. He wanted to know that since Trump said “Paris was no longer Paris” in the campaign what is he saying now?
Wait it was John McCain?
You remember that phony Russian Dossier on Donald Trump that was injected into the campaign? The one that accused Trump of some wild sexual activity in Russia?
Well it turns out that it was John McCain who sent someone for the dossier and gave it to Jim Comey and the FBI.
McCain found out about the document while at a meeting in Canada and dispatched an emissary to hunt it down.
Nice to have friends like that in your own party isn’t it?
Now who paid for it at the outset? Here’s a link to the story out of England.
Want to see someone challenge CNN:
This excerpt from Sebastian Gorka’s attack on CNN during an interview with Anderson Cooper is worth a read and watch.

Put this in the how do the Clinton’s Get Away with it file.
Here’s another story that will leave you shaking your head. Newly released FBI document shows a lot. Here’s a highlight.
One of Clinton’s private attorneys, Katherine Turner, had agreed to turn over one of Clinton’s non-secure Apple iPads and two of her BlackBerrys to the FBI.
However, neither smartphone had SIM cards or Secure Digital (SD) cards, the report said. This was the ones they found and had. A total of 13 mobile devices identified by the FBI as potentially using the Clinton email addresses were never located by Clinton’s lawyers.
Some of those devices were pounded with hammers after Clinton’s homebrew servers went down or after news that Clinton aide Sidney Blumenthal’s email had been hacked, the report said. Here’s the story:
That Russian lawyer who met Donald Jr.:
The plot thickens. That Russian lawyer who met with Donald Jr., she was let into the U.S. under “extraordinary circumstances” by the Obama administration. She was allowed in without a Visa.
Why? Not sure yet.
Then five days after meeting with Donald Trump Jr., she showed up in the front row of a House Foreign Affairs Committee Hearing on Russia policy.
There’s a bigger story here that I hope we can find out.
None of this excuses the email words of Donald Jr.which, as we said yesterday, just plain dumb.
I bet none of you at work or in public affairs writes an email without the thought it could one day surface. In a presidential campaign wouldn’t you be ever more careful?
Impeachment charges filed:
Rep. Brad Sherman, D-Calif., formally introduced articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump, accusing him of obstruction of justice. Sherman, who first drafted the articles in June, introduced HR 438 on the House floor.
The resolution had only one cosponsor, Rep. Al Green, D-Tex.
Really, a book? Donna Brazile announced she is writing a book on the 2016 election. You remember her, she was the DNC member who became chair after Debbie Wasserman Schultz was forced out for favoring Hillary. Brazile, you may recall worked for CNN and gave debate questions to Hillary. At first she denied doing it, but time proved her wrong.
Soon you can buy and read her book. Lucky uh?
The Ratings:
As relayed yesterday an anti Trump story drives up the anti viewing. Tuesday as the Donald Jr. story broke it was a big cable news night. Fox won, but close, and Hannity barely edged Maddow for the number one show.
On Wednesday it was even tighter with Fox barely edging MSNBC and Maddow and Laurence O’Donnell had the top two watched shows.
Here’s the numbers:
