Thy own worst enemy….

Once again we say for a successful business person, who came to the WH known for selecting great people and being the best deal maker, the President has seemed anything but that.

Does anyone think he had a true grasp of the healthcare bill details? Would a great deal maker lose by one vote? Would you expect him to claim victory with the house members, then call the bill they passed “mean”? Would that make future deals easier?
If he was so great at picking people and building organizations why is the WH in such disarray? Why can’t he arrange an organizational chart with clear reporting procedures? That’s a basic business function.

These failures are hurting his presidency, but nothing more than his ill timed and off message tweets. The latest greatest example is on healthcare.

The President’s immediate reaction (repeated many times later) as the Senate bill failed was this, “Let Obamacare implode”. We couldn’t think of a worst statement for him to make. Consider these facts:

  1. He just lost by a single vote on a signature issue of his campaign and party.
  2. Three people in his party abandoned him and refused to give him the win.
  3. Not a single member of the opposition party could he get to support him.So now the old law stays in place, the one he and his team said was imploding and going to hurt people. What road does he take? He says let it implode and watch what happens. What is wrong with that and what should he have done is this:
  4. Take the high road and tell the American people as President he is concerned about their health programs and where this is going.
  5. Explain that he is going to work with everyone to do what he can while we cantinue to seek alternatives.
  6. Explain he sees costs skyrocketing and insurers continuing to leave, and he is open to ideas from those who said no as to how to protect those who need the coverage.
  7. LOOK like you care and meet with people, but hold the line on spending and bailouts. After meetings stick to your message of concern but no real solution.
  8. Let the blame fall where it lies, with those who added an entitlement without adequate funding. Then as the costs sky rocket and insurers leave let the people who passed it and refused to support chaneg pay the price. Simple right?

So, what does the President do? He boldly states let it implode which will allow the Democrats to say he wanted it to fail, he refused to listen, to support to find a solution. They will quote him over and over. Instead of taking the high road and winning from losing the President will end up losing twice.

Here come General Kelly:

The General is a true leader and manager. He will bring sanity and organization to the WH. What he can’t fix is the President’s tweets that take them off message. So expect better, but not a total fix as General Kelly takes charge.

The Ratings:

MSNBC is in a roll. They won Thursday and when the numbers come out will have won the week. Fox will hold on and win July, but August may see a changing of the guard.
Fox major problem is they have the wrong show at 9:00. The Five should be at 5:00. It is not a 9:00 show. Move Martha MacCallum there is our suggestion again.

And down goes healthcare reform …..

As we watched late into the night and early morning all we could think of was the famous call “and down goes Frazier” as the health bill went down 51-49.
What that means is one senator could have changed everything. While three Republicans voted “no”, every Democrat stuck with their party. So Obamacare lives and we go on.
Think about that one vote. Last November Kelly Ayotte lost her seat in NH by a razor thin few thousand votes. Lisa Murkowski the Alaskan Republican who voted “no” was beaten in her primary by a Tea Party candidate. She won the seat back as a write in against him and the Democrat. There are a dozen more stories that could have been the one vote, and such is life in a democracy.

Now what? Well you can’t take back entitlements. Ronald Reagan said “a government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we’ll ever see on this earth!” He was right. So now somehow the two parties will get together and try and figure something out, because we know the bills are coming due, the insurers are leaving and costs are skyrocketing. In the end Democrats, liberals and the media will end up blaming “obstructionist Republicans” for blocking a solution. They’ll out maneuver them again we predict.

As for Republicans it shows the divide in their own party. They don’t like their own President nor respect their own leaders. McConnell is ineffective, not good on television and cannot be the spokesperson. Remember we told you he won’t even get Kate’s Law passed, you watch. There’s a PR dream that people would support and he can’t figure out how to get it done. It’s time for new voices.

Some other quick thoughts:

Do you think it’s funny how the Russia story has disappeared off the MSM? After nine months of daily innuendo, why is that? Are they less a threat now?

Yesterday there was testimony that the fake dossier on Trump came from Russian sources. Actual testimony. Yet this was not MSM worthy. Why is that? If it were about the administration would it be?

Then there’s the Debbie Wasserman Schultz story, the $4 million dollars and crushed hard drives. Big, but not on the MSM. Why is that?

Lot’s to think about as we head to the weekend.

Keeping the media busy …

Have you noticed?

That since Jared Kushner testified Monday before the senate intelligence committee that the media hasn’t been yelling Russia all day? By all accounts he was clear that there was no collusion and not a single negative comment has come out about him. Interesting isn’t it?

So what took it’s place?

The Attorney General controversy. The same AG that the MSM and liberal Democrats said was a racist and unfit for the office is now their hero.
The President has turned his friends against him on this and needs to fix it. In fact, at least ten senators have come out and said Sessions should not resign and called upon the President to cease.
In addition, the leading candidate for the seat in Alabama has volunteered to leave the race and allow Sessions to run. Imagine that.

Late yesterday afternoon the President gave them another issue to call him on. This time it was transsexuals in the military. Out of no where and without warning (apparently his staff and departments were for the most part in the dark) were stunned by the new tweeted policy. Yes tweeted. It wasn’t announced or done in a press release. It was tweeted.
Who decided the President should change his mind and campaign promise? If you find out let us know.

The MSM loved these and you hear them over and over now.

Then the tax surprise. Were you as surprised as us when you saw that  the President said he may raise taxes on high income earners? Now we don’t necessarily disagree that those making $5 million or more annually could pay a little more, but this pronouncement came out of the blue. The President’s argument is he wants to lower taxes on the middle and lower earners.
Now wouldn’t this policy dent the Democrats argument that Republicans want to give the wealthy a raise while taxing the poor? Of course the Democrats say the wealthy are those earning $250,000. Now that’s a difference.
How much revenue would a tax above $5M produce? $18 billion a year, $180 billion over a decade.
The MSM didn’t cover this one. Why? They don’t know yet how to attack on this. They favor taxes on the rich. They’re working on why at $250,000 you are rich enough.

The President continues to be his own best salesperson and worst enemy. By the time you read this who knows what he will have tweeted.

Healthcare:

After the 50/50 vote to even debate replacing Obamacare the Senate Majority Leader got a vote today on something he did for 8 years. It was a vote to repeal Obamacare. You know those senators who every year voted to repeal, but knew this time it mattered. Well this time, because it mattered, it didn’t pass. The vote 45 to repeal, 55 voting no.
Is there a solution? We still don’t see it. You can’t lower costs, increase coverage and choices while insuring all. They may find a way to take some small pieces out, but the increased government spending through Medicaid will stay. Once you create an entitlement it stays.

The Ratings:

MSNBC continues its run. Trump tweets, the MSM riles up the populance and the anti people tune in to what they call the “opposition stations”. It’s working really well for MSNBC.
In fact, the network won the weekday cable news ratings race in key dayparts and in key metrics for the first time in its 21 year old history. Fox managed to hold on and win Primetime but the gap is closing.

Here’s the top 5 Primetime cable stations for the week of July 17th:

  1. Fox News (1,930,000)
  2. MSNBC (1,842,000)
  3. HGTV (1,513,000)
  4. USA (1,375,000)

    3. MSNBC (955,000)
    4. HGTV (842,000)
    5. Adult Swim (765,000)

Now this week MSNBC might make the jump to number one. They have won Primetime on Monday and Tuesday.

Another eventual day …

The six months and five days of this presidency have been as eventual and newsworthy as they can be. Trump and his leadership make it so. Let’s see yesterday:

The Healthcare Vote:

Let’s see, it was a 50-50 vote so the VP had to cast the decider. What did it accomplish? We can have a debate on a bill. Let me understand, the fifty who voted no want what then? Do they want Obamacare to continue?
Did fifty senators really believe the rising costs and declining insurers were the future of our healthcare? Are they serious?

We propose again an open debate on C-Span is the best thing we can have. Present a bill draft, now both sides can propose changes, amendments or adjustments. Propose, vote and let’s emerge with a new plan that is better than we have. Isn’t that the job?

Didn’t John McCain in his valiant return hit it right. We don’t always agree with McCain but yesterday we did. Here’s part of what he said.

“I voted for the motion to proceed to allow debate to continue and amendments be offered, I will not vote for this bill as it is today. It’s a shell of a bill right now. We all know that.”
He then called for both parties to work together to bring forth legislation that would improve healthcare for all Americans.
“We keep trying to win without help from the other side of the aisle. We are getting nothing done, my friends, we’re getting nothing done. All we’ve managed to do was make more popular a policy that wasn’t very popular,” he said, referring to Obamacare.
“The administration (Obama) and congressional Democrats shouldn’t have forced through Congress without any opposition a program that brought forth social and economic change as massive as Obamacare.
And we shouldn’t do the same with ours”.

Does anyone not see the logic in that? We said it weeks ago. Lock them in for August, call it PeopleCare and get a bill that works for all of us and our budgets.

On AG Sessions:

This is a short comment section. The President is a disgrace on this. Turning on his first major supporter and degrading him over and over is a bad (and sad) move. This will hurt him with his supporters and have lasting damage. The Trump ego is hurting him here.

One possible boomerang is it was quietly announced that Secretary of State Rex Tillerson is taking a few days off. The inside story is the tensions and infighting in the WH have him considering his future in the role.
If he departed that would be a further sad day and blow to the WH.

Scaramucci In Action:
New White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci promised on Monday that if you leak you are fired.
On Tuesday morning, White House press aide Michael Short abruptly resigned. It had leaked he was about to be fired so he quit.

Why is this not big news?

An information technology aide (name: Imran Awan) for Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla. (Remember she is the former head of the DNC who had to quit for cheating to help Hillary),who is at the center of a congressional computer equipment scandal was arrested while trying to flee the country and charged with bank fraud.

There’s more to the story about the arrest.
According to a report by the Daily Caller the FBI seized smashed hard drives from the employee’s home. At the center are three Pakistani brothers who have worked for Democratic lawmakers.

“The suspects in this probe are people who worked for a long time for Democratic members in the House… brothers named Imran Awan, Abid Awan and Jamal Awan and they are criminal suspects”.

The large sums of money Imran Awan’s family received when he got the job with Schultz raised suspicions as well. “Soon after this guy Imran started working for Debbie Wasserman Schultz all of his relatives appeared on the payroll and they collected $4 million, very unusual.”

Seems like a story that should be covered to us.

Two John Boehner Stories:

He said Republicans are “not going to repeal and replace Obamacare” because “the American people have gotten accustomed to it. Here we are, seven months into this year, and yet they’ve not passed this bill. Now, they’re never — they’re not going to repeal and replace Obamacare,” Boehner told crowd in Las Vegas, according to the Washington Post.
“It’s been around too long. And the American people have gotten accustomed to it. Governors have gotten accustomed to this Medicaid expansion, and so trying to pull it back is really not going to work.”

He also talked of the great divide in this way. When he met with Obama he would sneak into the White House. “If I didn’t sneak in, if I went in like I would normally go in, the right-wing press would go crazy. ‘What is Boehner up to’?”
The “left-wing press would go just as crazy,” Boehner continued. “‘What is Obama doing? He’s going to let Boehner roll him again. You’re dead before you even have an agreement.”

An Interesting Monday …..

Jared Speaks:
“Let me be very clear,” he said in front of the White House about an hour after his closed-door meeting with members of the Senate Intelligence Committee. “I did not collude with Russia, nor do I know of anyone else in the campaign who did so. I had no improper contacts. I have not relied on Russian funds for my businesses. I have been fully transparent in providing all requested information.”

Seems pretty clear to us. If Donald Jr. and Paul Manafort say the same later this week, then what with all these investigative committees?

Trump news not on the MSM:
1. From Harvard’s Kennedy School’s Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics and Public Policy a study released by Professor Thomas E. Patterson, titled “News Coverage of Donald Trump’s First 100 Days.”  The findings:
According to the report, Trump has received unquestioned negative coverage for most weeks of his presidency, without a single major topic where coverage, on balance, was more positive than negative, setting a new standard for unfavorable press coverage of a president.”

Not a single major topic of more positive than negative coverage. That is insane. In fact, when they averaged out the tone of news coverage during his first 100 days, it was 80 percent negative coverage.

How does this compare to some previous presidents in their first 100 days in office? Mr. Obama received only 41 percent negative coverage. Former President George W. Bush received 57 percent negative coverage. And, former President Bill Clinton received 60 percent negative coverage.
The hostility for our president is obvious and the Democrats claim that Mr. Obama was treated worse more often is clearly wrong.

On CNN, NBC, ABC and CBS, coverage was negative over 90 percent of the time. The 80 percent negative news coverage in the overall average was largely brought by Fox News Channel, which came in at 52 percent of negative coverage.

2. You hear all the negative polls. Here’s a deeper dive on the Gallup poll.

Illustrating the great divide:
President Donald Trump has an approval rating of 50 percent or higher in 17 states in the first half of 2017, but in the same number of states, has an approval rating of less than 40 percent.

Trump, who has averaged a 40 percent job approval since he entered the White House, had a rating of between 40 and 49 percent in the another 16 states.

The president’s highest approval ratings were in West Virginia at 60 percent, North Dakota at 59 percent and South Dakota at 57 percent.
His lowest ratings were in Vermont at 26 percent, Massachusetts at 29 percent and both California and Maryland at 30 percent.

3. The WSJ did report this next one. Mexican authorities are willing to discuss ways for the U.S. to reduce its trade deficits under the North American Free Trade Agreement. (NAFTA).
The U.S. had a $63 billion deficit with Mexico in goods trade last year.

Another story missing on the MSM

Coverage of this is missing on the MSM but readers here are not surprised. The crime rate in Baltimore continues to sky rocket. Remember the incident (Freddie Gray) where six cops were thrown under the bus by the mayor and AG? They won in court but the cops decided no one had their back. So:

While Chicago gets some coverage as being the center of urban crime in the U.S., Baltimore has a higher rate of homicide, and near-daily killings in 2017 that has produced a nearly 20% increase in homicides from a year ago. With 193 homicides in a city of 615,000 people, Baltimore is on track for its highest per capita homicide rate on record and one of the highest in the U.S. in years.
Anyone here surprised?

The Ratings:

MSNBC followed up it’s Thursday night win with a second in a row Friday. This one was on the back of Maddow who is beating a misplaced “The Five” at 9:00. We say again, it’s the wrong time slot for that show. Should be Martha MacCallum going head to head with Maddow.
MSNBC also winning at 11:00 with a live show versus a rerun of Tucker.
Otherwise Fox won 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 10.

In addition below Friday is the week of July 17 totals. MSNBC won primetime beating Fox for the first time ever. Fox won daytime.

The week of July 17th:

    2. Fox News – 2.250M / 1.529M

The Donald Trump Jr. story this.

Another same old weekend ….

Just more of the same all weekend. Russia, healthcare, tweets, is the President going to fire the special prosecutor and is he going to pardon himself and family. Dominated the morning, evening and Sunday news shows. If there was other news we missed it.

One thing was clear. The President continues to muddy the waters himself. He can’t stick to his message, his ego forces him to revert back to what the MSM is attacking on. All it does is perpetuate the issue. It’s clear to us the President will never get it and this will go on and on.

In other news:

They didn’t cover this feel good story, because they had too much breaking (old nothing news) on the MSM. But in recently freed Raqqa, the people took to the streets in joy. The women burnt their burqas and men shaved off their beards in a show of defiance against ISIS.
Think this would have been nice to see and illustrate how ISIS is on the run? Maybe too positive for the administration to show on TV? After all they may have talked to the Russians during the campaign.

Another story not reported was this one. The administration has cancelled 860 Obama era regulations. Imagine that.
Plus, Budget Director Mick Mulvaney said 179 of these came what he called “a secret list”. Sounds like potentially big and interesting news to us, but wait, the administration may have spoken to the Russians during the campaign.

Jared Kushner to testify:

This AM Jared Kushner will be before the Senate Intelligence Committee on the his involvement in the Russian matter. He released early an eleven page statement in which he clearly says there is nothing here and here are the meetings I had. Big news today.

Sean Spicer Leaves:

This was overdue. The relationship got off more than rocky on day one when he went out and falsely blasted the media for saying the inauguration crowd size was less than Obama’s. He accused them of lying in an angry and defiant way. Relationships never got better. His personality wasn’t a good fit.
Add to the situation that the President’s tweets, off message remarks and comments make the job impossible, and you end up with a six month stint. Even with more relaxed personalities to handle this it won’t help if the President goes off message. And he will.

Today the Democrats unveil a new program:

As if they were never in office for eight years and just lost a presidential election the Democrats today are rolling out a new economic plan under the banner “A Better deal”. Really? Are the voters that naive?
Plus it kind of sounds like the Republican health plan that they had for eight years – A Better Way. That worked out didn’t it?

The Ratings:

Big win last Thursday for MSNBC. They won the night going away. We may be witnessing a sea change in Primetime. Fox won the daytime and the OJ coverage. (OJ ratings below)

A day dominated by self words and actions

The major news of the day was dominated by the words President Trump uttered and the actions O.J. Simpson did. Both had self inflicted wounds.

What President turns on their earliest loyal supporter and does it to a newspaper that is one hundred per cent against him?  It’s one thing when the President is bashing the media, the opposition, or congress for failing to pass a bill. Those statements, though outlandish, are against competitors or programs that are against things he proposes. But when he attacks a loyal supporter and attorney general he does himself much harm. Even his most loyal partisans are disappointed and angry at Trump’s words to the despised NYT.
Why, they ask, are you bashing your attorney general. Why with all your issues are you going after a loyal supporter, who was the first senator to support you? How, they ask, can you do it to the NYT who wants you to fail?
Why would you give them, of all publications, this chance to get exposure, break news and sell papers?

If you have an answer let us know, because we have no idea. We’ve never seen anything like it, and all we see is a man’s ego so out of control that he is off the deep end. Would you work for him under those circumstances? Would you trust him to have your back? We wouldn’t.
We would feel like he would sell us out at any moment if he perceives it as an advantage to himself.

What now? This better not be true.

Did we hear that Donald Trump Jr. may decline to appear before the committee next week? Wait, wasn’t he the one saying he would gladly do it because he had nothing to hide? What am I missing here?

If this is true, on top of the drip drip drip of the meeting, you have to begin to wonder.

OJ Walks:

The other public figure we referenced to start this blog won his parole hearing. Can he stay out of trouble now and stay free? His must change behavior and live within the law as Trump must quiet down and shrink his ego.
Can either do what they must?

The Ratings:

Tuesday as we speculated was a good day for MSNBC. They won the 7,9, 10 and 11:00 time slots. They had the number 1 and 2 shows (Maddow and O’Donnell). Mattews beat MacCallum for the first time.
With all that, Fox won the night — barely — by 29K viewers.
By Wednesday it was another story. MSNBC won the night. As Trump self implodes he is driving the anti channel viewership up. Sad.

Just asking ……

Just Asking:

Aren’t you tired of hearing about what a great deal maker President Trump is?

Maybe in real estate when he held all the cards, but he hasn’t shown it in Washington has he?

Now the President is calling for the senate to meet through the August recess. Remember when we called for that weeks ago?

We bet missing their recess and being locked up in DC they will find a solution. Don’t you?

Do you ever wonder why Democrats are lock step 100% on every vote and Republicans so divided?

By the way, 100% of Republican Senators think Obamacare is bad and failing. 100%. Yet they can’t repeal or replace it. Why is that?

What part of you never get all you want, and compromise makes the difference do conservatives like Paul, Moran and Lee not get?

Wait let me understand. Collins (Maine), Murkowski (Alaska) and Capito (W.Va.) can vote over and over to repeal but the day it matters they change their mind? This is leadership?

Wait again. The minute after McConnell pulls the bill Democrats start saying the AFA (Obamacare) is not perfect and needs work? Really? Are they worried it might stay in place?

Will Trump’s mouth and Republican leadership’s inability to do anything lead to them getting blamed for Obamacare’s failure?

Speaking of his mouth can we go a day without something crazy coming out? Why he must feed the opposition?

Last night he bashed the first Senator to endorse him and the man he appointed Attorney General. You wonder why he doesn’t get loyalty back?

How confident are you now that this same leadership team of Ryan and McConnell will actually pass tax cuts?

Do the American people now realize that Obamacare is a government entitlement program just like Social Security and Medicare?

Do you wonder how people like us knew you couldn’t do with healthcare what they said they would? Yet they raised expectations assuring us why?

How bad does Hillary feel? The polls that say President Trump is the lowest rated of any President at this juncture show him still two points more popular than her.

That Police Shooting in Minn.

This one sure looks like a wrongful shooting and has caused an international uproar since the victim was Australian.
Isn’t it odd that the MSM has been restrained in it’s coverage of the officer and some details? Here’s some details you likely haven’t heard:
The officer was Somali born.
When he became an officer in 2015 he was lauded by the same Minneapolis mayor you see on TV now and feted by the local community. “I want to take a moment to recognize Officer Mohamed Noor, the newest Somali officer in the Minneapolis Police Department,” Mayor Betsy Hodges wrote in a Facebook post. “Officer Noor has been assigned to the 5th Precinct, where his arrival has been highly celebrated, particularly by the Somali community in and around Karmel Mall.”
In his short time with the Minneapolis Police, Noor has had three complaints filed against him – two that are still open. The other was closed and Noor wasn’t disciplined.
This whole incident is unfortunate and impacted so many lives. It is sad and a shame.
We just think if the situation were a little different the MSM would be inciting riots.

THE RATINGS:

We feel pretty confident when the ratings for Tuesday and Wednesday come out MSNBC will be up. Here’s Monday’s. A close win for Fox, but Maddow is clearly the number one show now.

Failed Leadership…..

EARLY RELEASE OF WEDNESDAY’S BLOG

From now until November 2018 is an eternity in politics, which I guess is a good thing for Republicans, because if it were today they would be wiped out. And well they should, because for now this is a clear example of failed leadership. Failure in every branch, the house, senate, and white house.

After eight years of yelling and voting to repeal Obamacare they failed. They failed miserably. They failed in the house with the first vote. Then got the second one passed with no margin for error. They celebrated and then the President himself called the house bill “mean”. The same house bill he celebrated in the Rose Garden.

The Senate failed totally. A disgraceful act of leadership and clear lack of respect for Mitch McConnell. When have you ever seen a senate leader look so inept?

So what does he do when two more of his caucus announce they will vote “no”, killing the bill?
He announces he will conduct a repeal only vote.
What?
First it would throw the government, economy and country into complete turmoil. It would cause total healthcare confusion and utter chaos. A dumber idea we would have trouble thinking up.
Then add this. It has zero as in none, chance of passing. You wouldn’t get 30 votes. So you just failed at leading in getting a bill passed and you propose a loser like this?
Here’s our assessment.
Time to replace Mitch McConnell.
Resign and elect a leader please.

The winner in this whole process is Obamacare, Chuck Schumer and President Obama. Congratulations to the Republicans and their leadership. They took three unpopular things and made them popular.
You couldn’t have done more damage if you had set out to do that.

Really Mr President:

So your reaction to your party killing a replacement for Obamacare is let it fail? What? You know you are the presiden,t right? The welfare of the people in the country is in your hands. What are you saying? Don’t you think before your mouth moves or fingers tweet? Try it for a change.

As a politician you should have said you are concerned about the health and welfare of people as Obamacare implodes. That you will see what can be done to protect them from a failing system. It is very challenging because the costs are skyrocketing and insurers leaving the system.
Take the high road so blame can go where it belongs. But no, not you.

All you did Mr. President was give the other side words to quote you by as things fall apart. Chuck Schumer will say “he told you he wanted the system to fail, he doesn’t care if you die, because he didn’t get it his way”.

They will place the blame 100% on you. Nice job.

Iran deal certified. Obama wins again.

On top of healthcare the administration signed off that Iran is in compliance with the deal they signed with the Obama administration and it goes forward.
This is the same deal the President was going to “tear it up”.
Remember that?

Well Iran is too smart to deviate from an agreement that will allow them in ten years to be a nuclear power. They may go to the edge, but they’ll comply.

It was a horrible deal but Obama locked it in and it continues.

Put the promise to “tear it up” next to “new healthcare on day one”, a “wall that will be built and paid for by the Mexicans”. Just call them promises unkept and wins for the former President.

And they back off some more on the travel ban:

Did you see that the State Department sent a memo to US diplomatic posts overseas adjusting the travel ban?

Grandparents of American citizens from six Muslim-majority nations who had been banned from coming to the United States under President Trump’s travel ban have gotten the green light to book their flights.

The state department backed down after a US District Judge in Honolulu found the government cannot bar grandparents and other relatives of US citizens from Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen from getting visas under the ban.

How bad is this administration? After getting beat down in the courts and finally getting a partial ban they still can’t get it right? This is total incompetence and it goes to the very top of the government. Grandparents are not family? Is anybody thinking in this administration?

It only gets worse:

So now they ID the eighth person in the Donald Trump Jr. meeting with the Russians. It was an individual who works for Russian real estate developers. The same people who hosted the Trump owned Miss Universe pageant in 2013. Real Estate and Miss Universe connections.
Well now isn’t that interesting?

The Washington Post reported his name is Ike Kaveladze and that at one point he was the “subject of a congressional inquiry into foreigners forming shell companies in 2000.”

Drip, drip, drip. This administration is killing itself.

                                               The Good News:

It’s all good news if you’re a Democrat, anti Trump and the MSM. All of them had a great day and are set up well to continue the bashings with the outlook of even better days ahead.

Stagnant ……..

It’s a month into summer and as usual the news slows as people enjoy life outdoors and take vacations. In 2017 we are stuck in a cycle this week. Russia and Trump Jr., Healthcare stalemate and bad Trump polls. That’s all you hear, over and over as the MSM assures you heard it. So the news is light.

But why?

Why can’t the President learn or someone smack him into submission over his tweets? He spent the day on manufacturing and supporting “Made In America” week. As with other weekly messages before, it’s a good one that would resonate with citizens. So what does he do when he gets back into the WH after a long day? He tweets about the unfairness with Donald Jr.
Doesn’t he realize he is changing the message? That he makes the news? Why are you bringing it back right where your enemies and the MSM want to focus?

Try something new.

Announce you are done with this Russia hysteria. You and your team did nothing with Russia. You have shouted this, proclaimed it and said it over and over.  You are done. We have a Senate committee, a house committee and a special prosecutor all investigating this. You are going to let them finish and tell the American people. Your intention is to focus on the issues before us to make life better for every American. That’s it.

Then as the press shouts, you focus on your message that day and week. Let them look bad. You will win now, and win when you are proven truthful. In addition, your daily tweets should be focused on that same message. No more on Russia. Done.

Is that so hard?

On Healthcare:

So two more conservative senators announce they will vote “no” because the bill is not conservative enough. That kills this bill. Congratulations to them and Rand Paul, you gave America Obamacare.

Plus we told you Mitch McConnell would not get this done. Just like he won’t get Kate’s law passed.

What a mess both parties are. Watch now how Trump and the Republicans get blamed for the Obamacare failings. Schumer, Pelosi and team will say the uncertainty and failure to invest has led to the issues. Led by McConnell and Ryan the Republicans will be inept in fighting back. The Democrats should own the train wreck ahead. First for the manner they passed the original bill and how they fought to keep it. But watch.

Those Polls:

ABC has touted its new poll day and night for three days now. The one that says Trump is at 36% popularity. Here’s some facts:

The ABC poll was made up of 35% Democrats, only 23% Republicans and the balance independents. In case you haven’t noticed there is a great divide in America between Democrats and Republican voters. How many people were polled? 1001 (an average of 20 per state).  You get it without us going deeper.
Now we’re not saying Trump is running highly popular. But other polls released this week show the counties he won in the election are still solidly in his corner. He’s most likely in the low 40’s in our opinion, not the dire place ABC places him.
Oh yea, ABC forgot to tell you the Democrat party was rated lower than Trump and people said they had no message other than anti Trump.

South Korea’s new leader asks North Korea to talk:

The new liberal leader of S. Korea (Moon Jae-in) believes he can do what every other attempt has not, that is sit and talk with North Korea.
No chance.

Former NY Police Commissioner on recent cop killing:

You watch the news and if a police officer does something wrong it is on the air over and over. Do they cover officer shootings and killings the same way? No. Does the negative coverage impact people? We think so, so does Howard Safir former NY Police Commissioner. Here’s his words:

Howard Safir blamed Familia’s (NY Officer killed last week ) murder — in part — on the 2014 police shooting of 18-year-old Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo.

“Ever since Ferguson, which turned out to be totally bogus fake news about what Michael Brown did or did not do . . . there has been an atmosphere in the country where police departments and police officers are attacked constantly”.

“The atmosphere was created and continues to be created by the media,” Safir said, asserting that this same climate “is what led people like this perpetrator to literally execute a fine police officer who was out there doing her job.”

This racially charged setting, post-Ferguson, could only “embolden” a known cop-hater like Bonds, according to Safir. (Bonds killed NY Cop).

“As long as this atmosphere prevails about police being brutal and racist and involved in misconduct, we are going to continue to embolden criminals to go after, not only police, but after citizens,” Safir said.

Not much ……..

Not much changed over the weekend since our last blog. Donald Trump Jr. and healthcare dominated the news, and it was just more of the same.

The Donald Trump Jr. Saga:

The Trump Jr. news just keeps getting more involved and worse for the administration. Now there are reports that there were eight people in the meeting and some papers were left behind. Why they didn’t identify this meeting earlier instead of saying there were none is beyond us. How they handled it since it was disclosed (apparently because Jared Kushner amended his papers to ID it) is ridiculous. From yes, we had a meeting to the release of the emails which were incriminating (” A Russian government lawyer” and “part of the Russian governments” attempt to help elect Donald Trump). Then add the additional people in the room and the report of papers left behind and you have all the fodder the MSM and left need to keep this going for a long long time.

The Healthcare Beat Goes On:

The CBO report delayed its report scheduled for today. They now say it will be later this week. Doesn’t matter, it will result in more of “the cruel Republicans throwing people off insurance to die”.
Then John McCain ends up in the hospital and the vote gets delayed a week. Was McCain pro bill? We’re not sure. Are there 50 votes? We doubt it.
The issue today is this. Obamacare created an entitlement and once a government entitlement is in place you can’t take it away. No bill will cover everyone, have no restrictions, not mandate coverage and reduce costs. Understand that.
So when you hear Rand Paul and Susan Collins on the Sunday shows saying this bill doesn’t do all “they” want, here’s why they are wrong.
They both say that Obamacare is imploding and needs repeal. What they don’t understand is they can’t get all they want (which is very different).
Their voting “no” on the senate alternative only means Obamacare will stay in place and the process of correcting or fixing anything cannot occur.
Obamacare is the law, it is an entitlement and a “no” vote on an alternative because all you want is not in it, is a mistake.

The Ratings:

On Thursday, as the Trump Jr. news dominated, Fox narrowly beat MSNBC. Rachel Maddow had the number one show, Hannity was second. Carlson third.

The News Day ……

Quite a news day. A new Healthcare Proposal, the President in Paris, a joint press conference with Macron, the market goes to new highs (up 17% since the election), Russia and so much more.

Healthcare:

Out comes the latest Republican version and here we go again. I doubt it satisfies all and passes. In fact two Republicans already came out against it. Since no Democrat will vote for it that leaves zero wiggle room. You trust John McCain and Lindsey Graham to support something Trump wants? We don’t.
I suspect conservatives will say we are giving away too much. Moderates will want more and Democrats will say Republicans want people to die.

The best thing. The idea we floated weeks ago. Cancel their recess and let them stay in open session and find a solution. One that is best for the people and our fiscal future. Being locked in like that just might be the medicine they need.

The President In Paris:

It certainly appeared to us that Trump and Macron were getting along and agreed on far more than they disagreed. A good joint press conference. The one question that made us laugh came from a French reporter. He wanted to know that since Trump said “Paris was no longer Paris” in the campaign what is he saying now?

Wait it was John McCain?

You remember that phony Russian Dossier on Donald Trump that was injected into the campaign? The one that accused Trump of some wild sexual activity in Russia?
Well it turns out that it was John McCain who sent someone for the dossier and gave it to Jim Comey and the FBI.
McCain found out about the document while at a meeting in Canada and dispatched an emissary to hunt it down.
Nice to have friends like that in your own party isn’t it?

Now who paid for it at the outset?  Here’s a link to the story out of England.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4114716/Extraordinary-details-ordinary-citizen-John-McCain-actually-dispatched-trusted-aide-Atlantic-dirty-dossier-ex-spy.html

Want to see someone challenge CNN:

This excerpt from Sebastian Gorka’s attack on CNN during an interview with Anderson Cooper is worth a read and watch.

http://www.newsmax.com/Politics/fake-news-host-collusion-CNN/2017/07/12/id/801342/

Put this in the how do the Clinton’s Get Away with it file.

Here’s another story that will leave you shaking your head. Newly released FBI document shows a lot. Here’s a highlight.
One of Clinton’s private attorneys, Katherine Turner, had agreed to turn over one of Clinton’s non-secure Apple iPads and two of her BlackBerrys to the FBI.
However, neither smartphone had SIM cards or Secure Digital (SD) cards, the report said. This was the ones they found and had. A total of 13 mobile devices identified by the FBI as potentially using the Clinton email addresses were never located by Clinton’s lawyers.

Some of those devices were pounded with hammers after Clinton’s homebrew servers went down or after news that Clinton aide Sidney Blumenthal’s email had been hacked, the report said. Here’s the story:

http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2017/07/12/report-fbi-documents-show-flawed-hillary-clinton-investigation/

That Russian lawyer who met Donald Jr.:

The plot thickens. That Russian lawyer who met with Donald Jr., she was let into the U.S. under “extraordinary circumstances” by the Obama administration. She was allowed in without a Visa.
Why? Not sure yet.
Then five days after meeting with Donald Trump Jr., she showed up in the front row of a House Foreign Affairs Committee Hearing on Russia policy.
There’s a bigger story here that I hope we can find out.
None of this excuses the email words of Donald Jr.which, as we said yesterday, just plain dumb.
I bet none of you at work or in public affairs writes an email without the thought it could one day surface. In a presidential campaign wouldn’t you be ever more careful?

Impeachment charges filed:

Rep. Brad Sherman, D-Calif., formally introduced articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump, accusing him of obstruction of justice. Sherman, who first drafted the articles in June, introduced HR 438 on the House floor.
The resolution had only one cosponsor, Rep. Al Green, D-Tex.

Really, a book?  Donna Brazile announced she is writing a book on the 2016 election. You remember her, she was the DNC member who became chair after Debbie Wasserman Schultz was forced out for favoring Hillary. Brazile, you may recall worked for CNN and gave debate questions to Hillary. At first she denied doing it, but time proved her wrong.
Soon you can buy and read her book. Lucky uh?

The Ratings:

As relayed yesterday an anti Trump story drives up the anti viewing. Tuesday as the Donald Jr. story broke it was a big cable news night. Fox won, but close, and Hannity barely edged Maddow for the number one show.
On Wednesday it was even tighter with Fox barely edging MSNBC and Maddow and Laurence O’Donnell had the top two watched shows.
Here’s the numbers:

The Noise …..

The noise about Donald Jr’s disclosure of a meeting is going to go on and on for a long time. Everything will take a back seat again. It’s a pity that good news with the economy, markets, ISIS and government reform will be left unreported.

What bothers us is not that Donald Jr. took the meeting, but that he invited Jared Kushner and Paul Manafort; that they went, and as the Russia story unfolded none of them disclosed it. All they have done is give credence to the charges that have been floating for nine months. Then you read the emails and you see the words about Russia favoring Trump and how they welcome the assistance. Dumb, dumb, dumb. Did the three of them not think it would come out?

Now if the reports are true that Jared left after seven minutes realizing there was nothing to be learned, Manafort didn’t pay attention and that the meeting ended in 20 minutes with nothing exchanged or learned, why was it hidden? Are we supposed to believe all three forgot it? It just makes you wonder.

I ask myself if I got the email or message that they had information on the Clintons what would I have done? What would you have done? With all the rumors running around about Bill’s payment of $500K for a speech after Hillary approved the uranium deal would you have accepted the meeting? With all the Podesta connections, the server emails and more, would I have wondered what was going on?

It’s hard to say that I would have walked away, and Donald Jr. being so new to elections and believing that there was something about what the Clinton’s did took the meeting.

While we criticize Donald Jr. and the others for how this was handled, isn’t it interesting to think they took the meeting because of the Clinton reputation? If someone had said we have something on Marco Rubio would they have gone? I doubt it. Why is it the Clinton’s are always involved and everyone around them get in trouble, but they escape?

One less Republican on the air.

We make frequent mention of former Democratic members and advisors on the air as non partial experts. We talk often of George Stephanopoulos, Chris Cuomo, Chris Matthews, Al Sharpton etc….. There was a former Republican Congressman on the air. It was Morning Joe himself, Joe Scarborough. Well yesterday he announced he was leaving the Republican party. Surprised? I guess MSNBC and Mika changed him instead of him changing them.

News Not Reported On The MSM:

Did you know that Hispanic/Latino unemployment dropped last month to 4.8%? It was the lowest it has been on record since back in the 1970’s.
Seems like it might be a good news fact to let people know, but somehow it wasn’t. I wonder how the MSM missed it?

Here’s a story I ask you to replace the person who said it with a Republican and the President he references being Obama. As you read ask yourself if you would have heard this on the news.
A Democrat State Rep from Maine (Scott Hamann) said, “Trump is a half term president at most, especially if I get within 10 feet of that p—-y”.
He then says Trump was “installed by the Russians” and seethes against the president, his supporters and Republicans.
That’s an elected Democratic office holder. Not MSM news worthy though.

Try this for size, because it’s not MSM worthy.
“With the help of the research team, we killed a Bloomberg story trying to link HRC’s opposition to the Magnitsky bill to a $500,000 speech that WJC gave in Moscow”.
That message was sent by a Clinton campaign staffer to the campaign’s “HRCRapid” Google group, and was captured by the leaking of campaign chairman John Podesta’s Gmail account emails.
It is referencing the the $500K that Bill got to speak in Russia after Hillary approved the Uranium deal. It was “further reported: Clinton received $500,000 for a Moscow speech from a Russian investment bank with links to the Kremlin that was promoting Uranium One stock”.
Here’s a link to the story you won’t hear from our MSM.
http://www.breitbart.com/jerusalem/2017/07/12/clinton-campaign-killed-bloomberg-story-linking-bills-500k-moscow-speech-russia-friendly-stance/

Liberal Cities and Taxes:

We’ve mentioned Seattle in this blog a number of times. Just two weeks ago we reported on the impact of their $15.00 minimum wage. Well here’s another report on them. They just passed a 2.5% city income tax on high incomes ($250K). Interestingly the state of Washington has no state income tax, so Seattle created a city one.
Our experience is any tax like this becomes a permanent one and only increases over time. Take the combined Federal, State and City income taxes and you see why non tax states (and cities) like Texas and Florida are where people are relocating.

The Ratings:

Breaking news that is anti Trump drives up liberal cable ratings. Fox won Monday but it was close. In fact, Maddow had the number one show. Tomorrow when Tuesday is available it may be even more interesting.

Foreign Policy ……

We’ve spent so much time on domestic issues, charges and media bias. Today we want to focus on foreign affairs and the mess that failed leadership has created.

We’ll make one reference to current news. We don’t know where the Russian/Donald Trump Jr. meeting is going. Did he meet because he thought he could get some dirt on Hillary? It certainly appears so. Does that mean that the Trump campaign was willing to work with Russia to beat Hillary? It could. Did they? There is no evidence yet. Does it appear one or more votes were impacted? No. Will the story run for weeks or longer? Yes. Does anyone (in the MSM) care that Bill Clinton got paid $500K for a speech in Russia after Hillary signed off on a deal that gave Russia 20% of U.S.uranium mining? No, they don’t care. Why? You answer that.
Here’s a link to a NYT story in April 2015 that reported all that:
https://www.nytimes.com/2015/04/24/us/cash-flowed-to-clinton-foundation-as-russians-pressed-for-control-of-uranium-company.html

The Foreign Mess:

You want to know why North Korea is such a problem now? The answer is failed leadership. Very simply since the armistice agreement in 1953 that divided the country it has been a disaster waiting to happen. The leadership from past Presidents, especially the last 24 years, has done nothing except kick the issue forward. In that time, Clinton, Bush and Obama have sought phony compromises and pushed the real problems forward to the next administration. Finally, North Korea has the capability to do major damage and we are left with no good options. If you remember Bush called North Korea one of the three axis of evils.
So now what?
Our best options, short of military action, is to get N. Korea’s best trading partners to stand with us. That would be China and Japan. It seems clear that Japan is willing to step up, but China is not. We cannot succeed in applying pressure without China. We would suggest some hardball here. By that we mean:
For supporting us, and applying economic sanctions, we should sign a pact similar to NATO rule 5 with those surrounding countries. That says an attack on one (from N. Korea) is attack on us all. Then we should initiate a protective anti missile shield on their borders to protect them. Let North Korea know we mean business and this is going to hurt economically immediately and be deadly if any missile goes awry. It will also send a message to China that they are alone if they continue to support North Korea and have no protections. In fact, should N. Korea attack them they are on their own.
From there we tighten things. If after some time this doesn’t work we begin to apply trade restrictions on China. That would be from us and those aligned with us. China has to feel supporting N. Korea is worse for them than not supporting them.
In the end it may not work and it may require action, but that’s the price of passing the buck. It only gets harder.

Now think about the above and consider Iran (also identified by Bush as one of the three). Have you noticed how quiet they have been? You know why? They are smarter than Kim Jong Un the leader of N. Korea. The Iranians know Trump is no Obama, Bush or Clinton. They know he would act. So they quiet down now, fully realizing that if they stay within the agreement they signed with Obama they can develop their weapons over time and outlast Trump. Failed leadership on our part just pushed the problem down the road. Our children and grandchildren will have to deal with it because we wouldn’t. Just as we are dealing with all the conflicts that arose out the 1978 uprising in Iran that President Carter failed to act upon. You remember how they got smart in 1980 and released our hostages the minute Reagan raised his hand? They were quiet until later. They are doing the same now.

Speaking of Reagan, one more thing on the missiles we are deploying today that are defensive and work to destroy incoming attacks are from his vision back in the 80’s. Some of you may remember how liberals fought against them and mocked the idea calling it Star Wars. They were wrong and he had enough votes to get it done. Today it is the key piece of our protection shield.

We can’t discuss foreign policy without talking about radical islam and ISIS in particular. They are on the run. Out of Mosul as of yesterday and retreating to an ever smaller area of control. They are being chased and surrounded. Their future is bleak. Leadership and commitment to win make a difference.

One key player in the area that sooner or later needs to be addressed is Pakistan. They have walked a fine line since 2001. Remember Bin Laden was hiding there. The Taliban strike in Afghanistan and flee to sanctuary in Pakistan. Yet we give them hundreds of millions of aid each year because they located in a region we need access. In addition they are a nuclear power. It is time to expect more from them.
Here’s an interesting perspective from the Washington Times if you want to read it.
http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2017/jul/10/pakistan-shows-long-history-of-duplicity/?mkt_tok=eyJpIjoiWVRjek9URXlOakV3T1dVeCIsInQiOiJPb0VpYTVxWHhMc3NLNGRKOTYyRzBYRnl6YmxlS1wvWlVIMDlqbmsxQkt2ZlwvRnBiQkdHcWNKakJlRW9BSHFaQmZlRmNZYTZZdzd2MUtuTjVraTRDa2o3NWw4NFlsMUpmNUp0NkdGSDk5MGJJcEZEck1RT3R2WUU2YjhMRGlxbXB0In0%3D

So what will Europe do now? They’ve been banged around, attacked and battered. Their are signs that some of the countries are awakening and know their future needs change of direction. Keep a watch on England as they begin to plan their exit from the EU. Let’s see what France, Germany and Belgium do in light of recent attacks. They make take a cue from Trump before it’s over and toughen up.

Finally Russia. We can never trust Putin, that’s for sure. But he is smart enough to know an alliance with us can do him some good, too and he can’t attack a Ukraine or Crimea with this President as he did the last. So how do we use him and his country to advance joint goals? He can’t want a nuclear N. Korea, since he is closer to them than us. So with open eyes and at arms length, we should negotiate what is in our best interests.

The key to everything above is strength. Peace through strength was the term 30 years ago. It works today. We don’t get into fights and wars because the enemy thinks we are too strong. It is when they conceive we are weak. Weak either in spirit, commitment or strength. Trump and Mattis will deal from strength, and outside of N. Korea and their nut job of a leader the world should be a quieter place for a while. But in his case we need to fix what failed leadership has not done.

That’s our view of the world today.

As Healthcare Flounders ….

As healthcare flounders and the Republican majority cannot agree, let’s look at some health events and news that are occurring:

Obamacare added 20 million to the covered rolls (12 million were Medicaid). As we reported, more got covered. That’s the good news.

Now this year the number of Americans without healthcare is up 2 million. A Gallup-Sharecare Well-Being Index Report, published yesterday, found that the uninsured rate among U.S. adults was 11.7 percent in the second quarter.
So uninsured individuals remain. Now, why the drop in insured?

The drop was among younger adults and people buying their own health insurance policies.
It may be a reflection of rising premiums and dwindling choices in the insurance markets created under Obama.
Democrats, no doubt, will say the healthcare uncertainty has caused this. Wouldn’t that make you wonder about people’s commitment to care?

Now what about the cost of Obamacare?

You’ve heard all the stories about declining options and raising rates. You’ve heard the liberals defend the care as viable and not in trouble. Here’s some numbers you haven’t heard.

“Absolutely there is a cost shift that’s going on here, and that shift is primarily to the taxpayer,” said Lanhee Chen, a fellow at Stanford University’s Hoover Institution who advised 2012 Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney on health care.

The actual numbers are startling:
The average monthly payment this year is $371, or 28 percent higher than the average payment a year ago. What else do you know whet up 28%?

The American Action Forum,  crunched government data, estimated that government subsidies rose from $18.6 billion for Obamacare in 2014 to $30.4 billion last year.
Think about that. $12 Billion in additional costs to the taxpayers.

They further project $38.5 billion in spending for 2017, even though enrollment appears to have remained static.

That’s real dollars in a nation with such debt we are passing on. The bills are coming due.
The bottom line with healthcare is what we’ve told you all along.

You can’t insure 30 million for free without huge additional taxes on the working Americans. The problem is Obamacare. It was well intentioned but fiscally flawed.

It went through with the costs pushed into the future and provided a new entitlement.
Now the bills are coming due, and we can’t pay them.
But, people don’t want to lose an entitlement.

The MSM and liberal Dems present any changes as a takeaway by uncaring people who want you to die.

We say no, you passed a bad bill and now the country struggles to find a solution.

The final point on this is the Republican failure. Their failure to message it so people understand. Their failure to present Obamacare for what it was.

One example is they keep saying about the lie “you can keep your doctor” and “you can keep your plan”. True, it was a lie, but most people did.
The real lie was this.
They said that Obamacare would “save the average American family $2,500”.  Did it save you money or is it costing you more? That’s the question.
They lied about costs and had to know it. And yes, the CBO scored it.

It’s a mess, and it cost the Democrats the house, senate, governorships, state houses and the Presidency.
The Republicans have managed to make it their issue. Nice job.

On the 2018 Elections:

A little history.
In the past 65 years, starting with 1952, the incumbent president’s party has managed to win a majority of seats in an off-year election only four times. Four out of 16.
In the other 12 off-year elections, the opposition party won a majority.
Why?
Opponents of the President vote, while supporters of the in office person do not turn out in the same number. It’s called the enthusiasm gap.

In two of these four exceptions (1966 and 1978) the incumbent party held onto a majority but lost seats.
In both cases a Democratic president’s party had won better than 2-1 majorities in the House two years before.
In the 1966 backlash against Lyndon Johnson’s Great Society, Democrats were reduced from 295 seats to 247, but it was still well above the 218 needed for a majority.
In a milder recoil against Jimmy Carter in 1978, Democrats were reduced from 292 seats to a still robust 277.

In 2018 the Republicans don’t enjoy that majority. They have 241 seats and can only lose 24. There are 23 congressional districts that have a Republican congressperson and Hillary won them. Prime Democratic opportunities.

So the Republicans are in trouble, and if they want to get anything done they better do it now. Can Ryan and McConnell do it? We doubt it. As you watch the news do you ever remember an opposition party as dedicated to being against a President as the Democrats today? Add this. Do you ever remember his own party ever failing to support a President as Republicans have done with Trump? On any given day there are Republicans on the news criticizing the President. Think McCain, Graham, Collins and others. (And you wonder why he has family around?)

Add the MSM to that mix and you see the tough sledding ahead for Republicans. for sure. They better unite and act now.

The Ratings:
Megyn Kelly tanks again:

Kelly’s show on Sunday hit a new low and lost out to a replay of Dateline. Viewership numbers have declined each week. She and NBC can’t be happy and are wondering what to do.

Chris Cuomo goes after Kellyanne Conway:

Illustrating the MSM bias, in this case CNN and once again Chris Cuomo. He of course is the son of a former NY Democratic Governor and brother of the current Democratic Governor. So you know he is fair and non biased.
Anyway Chris goes hard and nasty at her and she fights back. Here’s the story and video if you want to watch it.

What the ……..

Let’s see what we saw and then what we heard all weekend.

We saw a President go to the G20 and dare to differ with the other leaders. We saw him stick to his beliefs and principles.
The MSM saw it different. They saw a President out of touch and isolated.

Imagine a President daring to differ with Europe. Now we ask which country at the G20 do you want to change positions with? Maybe they need some new thoughts and leadership.

Here’s the WSJ this morning on the meeting referring to the President:
He barely budged. If anything, Mr. Trump’s two forays overseas have shown that some leaders are bending toward his positions, not the reverse”.  Did you hear anything like that on the air this weekend?

Then we heard all week leading up to the G20 that the President wasn’t going to bring up Russian meddling in the U.S. election. Why they said it just showed how he thought and what might have gone on. (CNN reported all week that an “Anonymous Source Claimed Trump Would Not Press Putin on Election Interference”).

So what happened? It was topic one from the President. In fact both sides agree it came up twice. Good enough for the MSM?

Of course not. Look they said Putin said he didn’t do it. What did they expect Putin to bow down? I thought you said he wasn’t bringing it up. You were wrong again MSM and what do you do? You find the fact the Russians disagree on the issue to be the topic. A joke.

Does the MSM cover anything else? The Syrian cease fire? No of course not. In fact Obama won a Nobel Peace Prize for less.

Now does anyone reading this think it was a coincidence that the NYT broke a meeting story with Trump Jr. and others and a Russian this weekend? We don’t. We think it was planned because Trump’s speech in Poland and a successful G20.

Look at the rest of the coverage. Trump stepped out for a quick meeting with the French and Ivanka sat in the chair representing the U.S. This was a major issue for the MSM. Legal and following protocol, yes. But this was Ivanka not Hillary sitting for Bill, thus a big negative issue.

At some point the MSM is going to go over the deep end in the eyes of most people. It is building and their credibility continues to decline. If you watched George Stephanopoulos yesterday on his Sunday show or this AM on GMA you were worried about his getting a heart attack he was so angry. Joe and Mika were in high form of delight reporting the news as they saw it.

Keep this up and the day of reckoning is coming.

BTW, the NYT issued this on another false story:

Follow this one:
Sarah Palin sued the Times over a June 14 editorial that stated there was a “direct” link between one of Palin’s PAC ads and the shooting of Congress Member Gabby Gibbons six years ago. This was in response to the liberal link of the shooter of Republican Congressional members on the ball field.

What’s the NYT defense?
Palin’s defamation lawsuit against should be tossed because the paper made “an honest mistake” when it said she incited a 2011 shooting. “There was an honest mistake in posting the editorial,” lawyer David Schultz told Manhattan federal Judge Jed Rakoff.

Really? The NYT made an “honest mistake” in trying to equate the Washington DC shooting and tying the one in Arizona to Sarah Palin. We don’t think so. It was what they believe and feel, except the evidence does not support it.
Disgraceful and no media coverage.

Congress Returns:

We predict again, Mitch McConnell cannot get healthcare done. He won’t get Kate’s Law passed either.

ISIS Goes Down:

The promise from President Trump and Secretary of Defense Mattis was to defeat ISIS. The news yesterday that Mosul was recaptured and the enemy defeated was a major blow to ISIS. They (ISIS) are truly on the run now and the administration is doing what they said they would.
Under a different President and time the MSM would be covering and telling you this.

A Short Week ….

With the short week the news today will be all about the G20 session, the Trump/Putin meeting and the protesters. How will it go? Your assessment will be biased by where you get the reports on it all.

Some catch up details from us heading to the weekend:

Healthcare and the break:

Mitch McConnell was hoping the break would result in some of the eight no Republican votes to come around. But you know what? He lost one more this week. The bill looks dead.
So after eight years of voting to repeal and saying they had a better idea the Republicans have nothing.
Next step?
Let Obamacare continue, but you better manage avoiding the blame from Democrats that your non action has caused the disruption and is causing its collapse. Schumer and team will claim this and the MSM will provide cover. You better get ahead of this, because it’s not true.
Next we suggest again, call the congress back into session for August. Take the high road and create PeopleCare. Let the genius representatives argue it out and create a bill.

While on Congress:

The House passed Kate’s Law and it is on to the senate. Seems like a no issue law right? It would increase the penalties for deported aliens who try to return to the United States and are caught.
Yet Democrats are against it. The test for Mitch McConnell is to not play games and add it to another bill that gets rejected. Get it done. McConnell for all his ballyhooed genius has failed before. If he fails here we should all call for new leadership in the senate, one that does not play games.
Our prediction: The senate does not pass this.

The House also passed a bill that would deny federal grants to sanctuary cities.
We predict McConnell does not get this passed in the senate too.

Here’s an interesting story that may have connections:

There could be a connection here that the MSM may be missing. Follow this.
The DNC has refused to give access to its server to investigators of the Russian hacking. Seems odd doesn’t it? After all, the Democrats think Trump and team were behind it.
So why? No one knows. Here’s one thought.
There is a class action suit on behalf of three classes of people, arguing that the DNC must return donations to Bernie Sanders donors, DNC donors and Democrats in general, all donations given in the 2016 cycle. Why?
They claim that the DNC defrauded donors in the 2016 primary by failing to remain neutral during the contest.
Now we know what Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Donna Brazile were doing as DNC head and member to help Hillary. Might there be more on that server?
Just wondering.

Trump goes to Poland ….

As the MSM focuses on one thing, Russia and Trump’s meeting with Putin tomorrow, he visited Poland today and was greeted warmly. They shouted and cheered his name as he spoke. Isn’t it funny that the Eastern European nations only recently freed from the Iron Curtain and feeling threatened again love America; while the rest of Europe deplores Trump and respects America less?  I guess you have to be closer to gaining your freedom to appreciate it and respect those who helped you achieve it.
If you go to Budapest or Warsaw you will see statues of Ronald Reagan, honoring him for his leadership in the fall of the Iron Curtain. Contrast that with the story of French President Macron laughing at us.
For me, I’ll visit the Eastern European countries these days.

By The Way:

Macron’s mocking laugh with others was over Trump’s demand that they meet their commitment of 2% spending on a joint NATO defense. Remember that and the MSM criticizing Trump? Well, did you hear from them that since then NATO countries have committed an additional $12 billion this year?
I bet you didn’t.

Like I bet you didn’t hear that the President donated his first paycheck to
Antietam National Battlefield. This is a national park in Maryland that preserves the hallowed ground of the bloodiest day of the Civil War.
The President donated check one ($78,000) and an anonymous donor who gave another $22,000, bringing the gift to $100,000.
Did the MSM tell you this?

Let us be the first to suggest:

The President gave a press conference this AM in Poland with their President. CNN’s Jim Acosta, who is at war over the administration and its attack on his network got angry he wasn’t called upon. So he tweeted,  Isn’t it a “fake news conference” to take a question from a reporter who is essentially an ally of the White House?
What?
First of all wasn’t that the entire previous eight years.
Second, you have no divine right to get a question. Who are you?
The reporter who got to ask was from The Daily Mail (David Martosko). He responded via tweet to Acosta with this:
“The thing about this … sometimes once you’ve painted yourself into a corner, the only thing you can do is climb the walls”.

We think between this and Acosta’s rant because a press briefing last week was not televised he has gone too far. CNN should reassign Acosta now.

We told you:

That the MSM would begin maneuvering to blame North Korea on Donald Trump. Their messaging is beginning. President Obama tried strategic patience with North Korea. President Trump is using tougher rhetoric. He is driving them to these missile tests.
Well, MSM, just for the record. Simply because you didn’t cover it doesn’t mean it didn’t occur. Here’s the record.
During Obama’s two terms in office, North Korea did 64 ballistic missile tests, and in the prior 14 years they had done 17 tests.

A Ratings Catch up:
FOX dominated Saturday night as they stuck with their schedule.  Won Sunday pretty easily. Won Monday but Maddow had the lead show. Clear all three days was CNN lagging.

Into July we go ……

After a holiday hiatus we can say that not much changed. It was more of Trump versus the MSM. It went from the personal attack on Joe and Mike to the body slam parody of CNN. The networks, cable stations and newspapers took the CNN video as invitation for people to attack.

Now, no question the President is at war with CNN. He was on the high road with the false stories and comments we covered that the network had reported. They loved playing this video — over and over and over — and calling the President unhinged.

Now we ask is the MSM really biased?

Well we know how CNN fired four people recently and pulled back stories because they were unproven (false).
We know how independent media watchdogs have reported how negative the coverage has been on the President.
We know the surveys that report the voting pattern of on air news media is 85+% liberal Democrat.
We’ve illustrated how what they cover is in part because of their bias.
How the tone and time devoted is because of their feelings.

But want a stat that shows it all:

You know in print media the New York Times and Washington Post have led the charge with anti Trump stories.

Did you know this:

In the 14 Presidential elections since 1960  the NYT has endorsed the Democrat candidate every time.
Yes that means in 1972 when 49 states voted 61% for Nixon the NYT went the other way.
When America wanted a change in 1980 and voted Ronald Reagan (44 states) the NYT endorsed Jimmy Carter.
In 1984 when 49 states voted Reagan and Morning in America the NYT endorsed the Democrat Mondale.

You get the idea. Do you think the NYT can possibly be non biased?

Now the Washington Post is another story. A simple one.

The Washington Post has NEVER in it’s history endorsed a Republican candidate for President. Never.

That friends is the MSM in America. The next time someone tells you the media is not biased ask them to tell you when the NYT and Washington Post last endorsed a Republican Presidential candidate.

The President Heads To The G20 Summit:

Watch this coverage and see how much time the media spends on the summit versus if Trump will say anything to Putin about the election intervention.

North Korea Again. The Wall Street Journal Today says:

“Trade between China and North Korea grew almost 40% in the first quarter. So much for China working with us – but we had to give it a try!”
